Is there any reason why NVAC was removed from the guide?

Post by gaaaaaaaaaaary » Fri Jul 22, 2022 10:39 am

Just wondering if it was causing problems or anything because I was crashing a fair amount when I installed the latest TTW. No extra mods. Installed NVAC and now zero crashes.

If you have crashing, thats indicative of badly made mods that can corrupt your save.

It was removed largely because most of the NVSE stuff now has proper fixes for most of the game code bugs.

It's not supposed to be a band-aid to let you use broken mods.

While I still have NVAC installed, I think Roy is right. I could get rid of it. My last NVAC log, from a 2 hour TTW game (plus more than a few mods), looks like this (no errors, whatsoever):

Code: Select all

24212502 _ 17940000 07050000 nvac.dll

If you don't have any other mods, did you install all of the required plugins for TTW?

I have literally hundreds of hours of testing in 3.3.2 before and after public release, and the only crash I got was when I used console commands (God Mode, TCL and probably others) and started throwing an insane amount of grenades of all types (frag, plasma, pulse, etc.) onto a pile of mines of (also) all types.

Yeah I did, I didn't even skip the testing step so I know they're all installed correctly :( I'm gonna try again from scratch, maybe I missed something I'm not seeing
