Application load error

Post by Krux » Mon Nov 12, 2012 7:04 am

as soon as i double-click new vegas, i get an error pop-up that says: "Application load error 5:0000065434"

I have up-to-date Vegas and F3, the TTW installer installed fine with no issues.

F3 launches fine, but my vegas is basically broken now

I can't see how that is possible, the installer doesn't change any thing in NV it only looks at it and converts FO3 to work with it.

where did you get your Fallout NV?

I will take a shot in the dark here and say that is probably the reason for not working since the requirements say:

"Legal, English versions of all Fallout 3 patched to 1.7 with all DLC content (or Fallout 3 Game Of The Year Edition) installed on your computer" and "Legal, English versions of Fallout New Vegas patched to 1.4 with all DLC content (or Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition) installed on your computer"

So my guess is that pirate copies must have something different that conflicts with TTW or something (I am not a programmer or moder or anything so I might be just making a fool out of myself here.)

As for uninstalling TTW if your NV game doesn't work even with all the files added by TTW (.esm and .esp files) disabled using NMM or FOMM than I think your only way to fix it is by reinstalling FNV (a good practice used by me and others is after you first install FNV just make a backup copy of your NV folder so you can just revert everything to vanilla whenever you want or need to.).

Hope this post was useful and if someone more knowledgeable could correct me if I said something wrong I would appreciate it angel.

I had a feeling you were gunna say that.

it's not that i don't read, i just find it hard to understand (since im not a programmer) that the skidrow version would be any different.

oh well, if this really really works..... i may buy new vegas to use this.

fallout 3 had the best map and quests but the engine and mechanics were F***'d and it ruined the game for me, NV has a lot of fixes but it's on a smaller map and kind of less fun. feature-wise, a huge improvement. this really bridges that gap by being able to go to fallout 3 using the mechanics brought in by NV. for that reason alone, if this really works, i'd buy NV for it.

and thx for the replies
