I almost don't want to bother creating a navmesh if I'm going to have to fight with the GECK to make something usable. Is there something I can do to make a vertex "snap" to the floor?

I haven't messed around with navmeshes for years, but I think the " F " key will drop them to the ground. There should also be a button (in the Navmesh Editing Bar) with two arrows pointing down next to each other (named Drop Vertices) that does the same.

So it turns out that if you do your navmeshing as the very last step, after placing down all the fog and glow FX, the vertices will see those as a valid obstacle.

In short, I'm a dummy who was making things harder for themselves. But someone on the Discord taught me how to hide stuff, which helped a ton.
