Old mod user lost in the new age of modding

Post by ironwarmachine06 » Thu May 18, 2023 5:53 pm

So i used to play modded nv and ttw alot years ago and decided to come back and try some of the new stuff. installation went pretty smooth mostly stuck with some texture mods, some new areas and updated controls/ these awesome new anims. Was going pretty good till I came across an error ive never seen before. Game freezes and i get a pop up that says out of memory. Doubled checked 4g and everything appears to be applied correctly. Beyond that everything else has been working well (besides the AR having a ridicules delay before firing) and it will run for a bit but other times it stops after a few minutes. If anyone has any suggestions im happy to hear them.

Usually, "out of memory" errors on FNV/TTW are caused by using texture packs that are too heavy for the game to deal with.

The best, up-to-date texture guide for TTW (and FNV) is Salamand3r's Texture Guide. You could check it out and see if it helps. :)

Thanks for the guide link, really well put together. Was using the small nmc packs with a few other things but after finding the answer you gave decided to remove them and my problems went away. But after about 15-20 hours got some freeze and sometimes the out of memory pop up every now and then. Starting to think it was actually a compilation of small textures mod that I used. Gonna remove it, use the guide you sent and see what happens. Thanks for all the info.
