Summary
Ever wondered why the 'Quantum Chemist' perk automatically converts your Nuka-Colas into Nuka-Cola Quantums, but not the refridgerated Ice Cold Nuka-Colas? Wonder no longer with one of the most basic mods to ever exist!
This mod contains versions for both the vanilla 'Automatic' conversion method, and the much better crafting recipe method as seen in Tale of Two Wastelands. I'll choose which Nuka-Colas I do and don't want quantum-ified, thank you!
Requirements
- Fallout: New Vegas.
- Tale of Two Wastelands (v3.2.x)
- Any Mod Manager with FOMOD support. (Not a requirement, but highly recommended; I personally recommend Vortex for its general simplicity, though it's up to personal preference)
Is this a port of 'x'?
Nope. Whilst a port would have been easy enough, such as Tooplex's aptly-named 'Ice Cold Nuka Cola For Quantum Chemist', the mod was simple enough to just whip up in FNVEdit, based on a modified record from the Tale of Two Wastelands' .esm file for perfect compatibility. Since this was based on TTW, this mod doesn't use the conversion method, and instead provides a workbench crafting recipe as is seen with the original perk modification. This particular version of the mod is based on v3.2.2, but should be 100% compatible with any v3.2 (and, in theory, other previous versions featuring the same 'Quantum Chemist' perk change in v3.2.2, though don't quote me on that).
Which version?
I have included two versions of the mod; One which allows you to convert 5 Ice Cold Nuka-Colas into 1 Nuka-Cola Quantum, and the other which allows you to convert 10 Ice Cold Nuka-Colas into 1 Nuka-Cola Quantum. But why? In the game, the Ice Cold variant heals for 20 HP instead of the 10 HP featured in the original variant. Because of this, some may see it as 'twice as powerful' as the original Nuka-Cola, so I decided to include a version which only takes half-as-many Ice Cold Nuka-Colas. Both versions are confirmed to work as-expected, and are as simple to install as just dropping the .esp files into the Data folder. Since they both edit the same references however, it is both redundant, and also not recommended, to install both versions at the same time. Just pick one or the other, not both.
Where is it?
As with the original recipe seen in TTW, this recipe is also found in the Workbench. If you can't see it, make sure you have correctly installed the mod and have the required ingredients. The recipe will share the same name with the original, as recipe names are supposed to name what they create, not what they consist of.
Alternate versions?
