How on earth am I supposed to understand Lonesome Road

Post by Cannibal_Kon » Sun May 18, 2014 5:06 am

I haven't played through most of Lonesome Road and one day I WILL beat it but until then: IS there anything in Vanilla FN:V that could explain some of the back story of Ulysses and the Courier? I know about Nash telling you a little but is there anything else in the Vanilla Fallout?

Please try to keep Lonesome Road spoilers out but Fallout spoilers are fine.

From what I remember, the majority of the info about Lonesome Road is given in the Divide, mostly by Ulysses.

You hear about a fight

You hear about a fight between you and Ulysses at the end of Dead Money. A little clue is given in Honest Hearts. You first hear Ulysses in Old World Blues via tapes found about the place. But most information is found in Lonesome Road itself.

Spoilers But Explains pretty

[collapsed title=Spoilers But Explains pretty well.] A long time ago your character was walking through the place known as the divide before it became complete shit. Soon people made it a nice new town, it was growing to the point that it could even rival the NCR or Legion some day. Then you walked through and delivered a remote detonator for the nukes by accident. That pissed Ulysses off pretty bad. He then was all like "hmmm, one person can make or break an entire nation" So he then gets you to come along so he can trick you to use the leftover nukes to blow up a major NCR trade route so the ones in the Mojave can be cut off and the Legion can win and push on to destroy the NCR. Also the Whitelegs did their hair like his because they thought he was a bad ass. [/collapsed]

Did anyone else besides me

Did anyone else besides me find the frequent conversations with Ulysses interesting? Lonesome Road has always been my favorite DLC by far, just because I find those conversations interesting, especially since there are so many different skill checks and speech options. Makes each playthrough of LR a bit different.
