Completely unable to create new saves after months long hiatus

Installed TTW toward the beginning of this year after following the lengthy guide and the Viva New Vegas modding guide, all went well for over a hundred hours of playtime but now I'm met with the inability to save when returning to my installation and booting it up thru MO2.

The exact error message displayed in the ingame UI is as follows: "The storage device you selected is no longer available. You will need to select a new device the next time you save. Until then, Autosave is disabled."

I'm completely unable to save through any means and I'm not sure what it means by "device" since this install has always been on my internal hard drive, no settings have changed, and my old saves are still located where they've always been (the default filepath) and are fully loadable. I'm completely stumped, anybody got any ideas? I'd really like to avoid completely redoing my install because it took me multiple straight days to setup lol
