Weapon Mods and TTW

I’m looking to reinstall TTW after many, many years of having not played it, and I had a few questions before I jump back in. First. How do weapon modifications work nowadays? I remember long ago when you could install WMX and a TTW patch to give the weapons in Fallout 3 mods, but support for that was discontinued and that was my primary motivation for dropping the mod, as WMX is always a need-to-use mod for any New Vegas play through. I was looking at some older forum posts, and apparently the old weapons mods have been integrated into TTW itself? Can anyone confirm that? In addition, are the weapon mods from WMX integrated, will I need it for the New Vegas weapons, or will New Vegas weapons only have the vanilla weapon mods available?

TTW has its own weapon mods for stuff, done in a way thats balanced for vanilla.

Modifying unique weapons, or having to modify the unique just to get them back to their original state is both unbalanced for the former and stupid for the latter.

Also it's too much work to fix WMX's meshes for TTW which has all the animations fixed for accurate iron sighting.
