Punga Power needs a bit of a buff...

Post by Paladindanser » Tue Apr 25, 2023 3:22 am

it's pretty useless given how heavy the Punga Fruit are. It should restore health AND radiation based on the survival skill, if not before than make the Punga Power perk make the original items scale with the skill to boost utility. Additionally I always found it weird how there are no recipes (minus Moonshine) that uses Punga Fruit as an ingredient despite Woodrose's dialogue indicating you can use it to make many things. Given the way they dress I assume it includes using the stem or some form of fibers from the plant stalk to weave into clothing, maybe cloaks, etc kind of like the Treeminders at Oasis. Feels like they need a bit more to them, unique armor/clothing, additional recipes, and maybe also the risk of becoming addicted to Punga Fruit (as is mentioned previously)

1. Punga only need in your inventory for one or two combat runs that you need its restorative power so you can complete the punga challenge . After that, you can just drop it in your storage containers.

2. Weight is not a problem because you must consider the balance between its value (pretty high compared to canned foods) versus its weight. I do think punga weight is okay for me, logic-wise and lore-wise.

3. The recipe and usage is ... you gotta add it in mods. I have made my own mod with punga wine and punga food for this. It's a bit of a niche thing, so few people complain here.

It would be more beneficial if it could restore both health and radiation based on the player's survival skill. Alternatively, the Punga Power perk could be adjusted to scale the original items with the skill level, increasing their utility. It is also strange that there are no recipes that use Punga Fruit as an ingredient, despite Woodrose's dialogue suggesting it can be used for various things. Perhaps the plant could be used to make unique clothing or armor, similar to the Treeminders at Oasis. Additionally, there could be a risk of addiction to Punga Fruit, adding another layer of complexity to the game. Overall, the Punga Fruit and its associated faction could benefit from some additional development to make them more engaging for players.
