Anyone else often shoot through an NPC's head?

Post by Beefcake » Tue Feb 14, 2023 7:02 pm

I never had this issue until I started playing TTW, at least not that I can remember.

For some reason my shots often sail through the enemy, usually their head. I have a clip here to show what I mean. https://youtu.be/NUwV6t9p-18

I'm using a height randomizer mod. I used it with NV just fine but perhaps it's a problem here? I don't know what else it could be. I'm not using any mesh mods.

edit: I've just discovered that fAutoAimMaxDegrees = 0.000100 is causing my shots to go down and to the right of my crosshair. I've used this setting for my last NV character and never noticed the inaccuracy. I'm guessing that's the reason for my shots missing so often. Disregard.

Vanilla iron sights are misaligned, so you're used to compensating for the misalignment. TTW has fixed them because it drove me nuts! haha. Bullets go now where you aim.

No, as long as they don't see you shooting (or other NPCs), it doesn't count as being detected. Shooting in the head or heart is an instant kill. Other places? Depends on weapons and ammo. Shoot someone in the neck with an arrow. TTW seems to have upgraded the version it is much easier to play than the original.

Note that if they wear headgear with some DT they can protect against head crit somewhat.

The enemies aimbot like crazy in this game. As long as there's a clear line of sight between you and the end of their gun, they will hit you.

That's only in case of burst guns like miniguns or assault rifles, or shotgun, which mean there's always one hit and you dont notice the many go brzzzzz past.
Missile launchers? Yeah, plenty of times they go wide. They still go near enough that I put them top of priority ladder.

Same with tribeam laser rifles. The beams show plenty of misses.
