Hunting Rifle and .32 Rifle Unified Mod

Is there a mod for TTW that makes removes the need for a separate, .32 rifle for the Capital Wasteland and just makes the hunting rifle seen in both games use .32 ammo? I'm messing around with FNVEdit a little bit, but I also don't really trust myself because I'm not super knowledgeable on this stuff, plus someone might've already beaten me to it and made a mod.

No. First because dc version is 32 rifle and mojave version is hunting rifle in ttw332. No mistaken identity.

2nd, Because fnv use 308 ammo with 3 mods. Dc rifle use 32 ammo with 2 mod. They has total 9 nif , serving 2 diff usage.

Your request is... silly is the shortest and lightest way to describe.

There might be a bored modder somewhere who can realize this... useless idea. If they want a mod ignored from day 1 release.

If you want, just go ahead. Dont say we didnt warn you.

That's one reason why I never liked the generic weapon names in Fallout games. I always replace them with their real world names (if the weapon is modeled after a real world weapon) or completely replace the weapon itself. For example the NV "Hunting Rifle" is a Mosin rifle in my game and the DC "Hunting Rifle" is a Karabiner 98. It's impossible to confuse the two, because of the replaced weapon models and names.

I did something like you requested in my game with the Point Lookout "Lever-Action Rifle" and the NV "Trail Carbine", because I didn't feel the need for another ugly looking Winchester clone. So, they are both now the "Winchester Model 1873" chambered in .44 ammo, featuring a detailed model from the Nexus.
While it is possible to replace one instance of the weapon by the other everywhere in the game, it's quite an amount of work and may cause more issues than it's worth. So I just gave both weapons equal properties and updated the repair list to contain both weapons, so they can be used to repair each other. There was one issue with the weapon wall in "Underground Hideout New Vegas" which displays the Trail Carbine. Of course it wouldn't recognize the Point Lookout version of the gun, so I had to update its script.

You see, you can do a lot of things with the right experience. You're welcome to test things out, but always keep backups, in case things don't go the way you planned.

Technically you can mod the 32 to look like hunting rifle, use same mod and bullets. Then change all the list that 32 rifle belong to. Thus all the spawned instance of 32 would look like HR. Its just one weqpon mod, is all.

But like i said: whats the point? Its a silly idea that limit the variety of weapons.

But well, there might be a bored modder out there who dont mind useless effort (because bored). But i wont use such mod.

Both hunting rifles are Winchester Model 70 rifles, the DC one is pre 1970 and the NV one is post 1970 which is identifiable by the sights. They also were available in many chamberings, .32LR, .308, 30/30, 30.06, etc.
