TTW Crashes upon leaving Vault 101

Another one of those posts, sry. When I try to go down the hill from Vault 101 the game either CTDs or goes into some spastic screen flickering (sometimes an epilepsy inducing version of that happens during the loading screen as well).

I installed all the necessary NVSE plugins including NVAC (tried to remove that one, did not help) JohnnyGuitar and NVTF.

I run it on an ooooooooold Acer laptop with AMD R5 integrated graphics (tuned down the settings accordingly).

I also use FOMM since the laptop has a 32bit system and therefore can't run MO2.

Apart from the age of the hardware could something else have caused this?

I don't really know what I did wrong with the first installation but now the game seems to work (I'm standing in the middle of Springvale) :D . I installed the Quick Start Mod, maybe this helped solving the CTDs.

No no, it's FNV engine being quirky.

My guess is that for first time entering a big area that require much loading, the game need to read all necessary files and save temps out. The bigger the area, the slower it become. if your rig is good the process go smoother.

Obviously, old laptop with integrated graphic chipset will have much harder time with that.

Capital Wasteland is especially rough due to the way their terrain are designed. Mojave is much better. Then again, I keep feeling Mojave is flatter and less clutter than Capital.

ALSO, the 1st time out of Vault 101 is super rough because that's when all the DLC, stashes, radio, quests, appear.

TTW cannot run on a 32 bit system probably unless you enable 3GB support. You can google how to do that with your OS.

He's got AMD integrated graphics. You can't enable LAA in 32-bit with built-in AMD graphics as AMD doesn't allow it. I ran into that myself on my old laptop. You gotta squeeze every last bit out of 2GB... which means cut all non-essential mods, eliminate all graphic retextures, cut the number of systems services you have running...

The old 2.9.4 version would, but I haven't tried it with the new 3.x version. So I'll defer to your expertise. :D

One thing you can do to help with short memory is to use ENB strictly for the memory handling of textures. Make sure all graphic effects and rendering are disabled, but the video driver memory handling is enabled. It will then use another process in Windows as the memory buffer for textures instead of vram (which the AMD built-in video doesn't have) or system memory of the process using the textures (the game). This does slow down the game when textures need to be swapped in for rendering by the game, but that's better than not being able to play the game at all.

In short, get a better system - in particular, get a 64-bit system and a video card with lots of vram. Nothing else will work nearly as well.

Last time i played ttw 3.2 it was with a crappy 2gb laptop, if i look to the ground the fps goes up, goldeneye strats.
My windows is 64 bit if that makes a difference. i can't save scripts at the GECK tought.
