If you're using MO2 you can't go by Gopher's guide religiously. I encountered some issues in the install order/left pane arrangement and experimented with the order to get things to work right. Everything related to Darn works perfectly for me now (though I have added some things on top of it). Here is the order I have my UI mods in and they seem to work:
The only relevant ones for you are probably 0036 - 0042, I just listed the others in case you saw mods you didn't want to use that solved the issues you were having. Also, I have OneHud installed but I don't use it to move the hud elements around as I consider it easier to directly edit the Darn xml's to get a result that is persistent across all characters I make (The "Darn Custom" mod is my UI layout).

"0036","The Mod Configuration Menu","",42507,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42507"
"0037","One HUD - oHUD","",44757,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44757"
"0038","Darnified UI","",0,""
"0039","One HUD (oHUD) TTW Darnified Patch","",44757,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44757"
"0040","UHD Fonts for Darnified UI","",65263,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65263"
"0041","Darn Custom","",0,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/76634"
"0042","DarifiedMCM","",0,""
"0043","Enhanced Item Info - Extra UI HUD","",60534,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60534"
"0044","JIP Improved Recipe Menu ESPless","",75920,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/75920"
"0046","MAPMO - Main and Pause Menus Overhaul 4.0","",74365,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/74365"
"0047","Cursor Unilaterally Matched (NVSE)","",72934,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/72934"
"0048","Book Menu Restored","Shouts",67278,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67278"
"0049","Improved Console (NVSE)","",70801,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/70801"
"0050","Compass Side Fade","",61048,"https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61048"

Hope this helped a bit.
I wish I could say this helped, but as SOON as I installed One HUD with the patch as well for Darnified, my subtitles went away again. Frustrated beyond all belief because it took a clean wipe to fix darnified after last time.

Did you install the mods in this order and/or have them ordered in MO2's left pane in this order:

UIO - User Interface Organizer
MCM
OneHud
(If you use FlashlightNVSE it should go here)
DarnUI
One HUD (oHUD) TTW Darnified Patch
(I have "UHD Fonts for Danrified UI" here, you may want to try them)
Darnified MCM

The install order is important. UIO will, generally, fix most things but in my experience, if I don't install things in this order, things go wrong.
If you're using MO2 (you should mention what mod manager your using, it's important) you can just remove the UI mods and start over again. Pay very close attention to what mods below the UI mods are overwriting. I always install my UI mods second after all the NVSE and major bugfixing mods so I know exactly what mods are overwriting (B42 Quickthrow, Just Assorted Mods, etc.).

EDIT: Updated because I can't read changelogs aparrently

I quite like this. You've done a fantastic job making it work well in 2022.

I have a few suggestions:

Firstly, for me this worked out of the box when I basically unzipped it immediately, zipped it again to conform to the data folder structure, then ran it in Mod Organiser. I am not entirely sure if I got the new fonts, but it looks correct.

Even if not, MO offers the ability to customise inis as part of the install process. At least it used to. Not sure if they brought it back.

Anyway, the only thing I don't like is that it has a bunch of extra features. I know that sounds strange, but I already use oHud for customising my UI, and having it in two places at once is not good, at least in my opinion.

Also, the latest "oHud for Darn" on the nexus is hugely outdated and doesn't work. Do you mind if I grab the XML and take a crack at updating ohud to work with it?

EDIT AGAIN: Okay, the only thing that doesn't work is the Armor CND, which doesn't show/hide with the CND in oHud. I will probably try adding that if I can figure it out

Also, feature request: VUI+ has a feature whereby when opening the AID tab of the pipboy, the display at the top of the screen changes from displaying DR and DT to showing FOD and H2O. I feel like porting over a similar feature would be very nice.

Okay so 1 important development, and 2 bug reports:

1. I have made an ESP file that will dynamically replace the DT, DR and Caps displays with FOD, H20 and SLP displays when on the Aid menu, if playing in hardcore (similar to what VUI+ does). You can find it here. You have my complete permission to include it in the next release, at which point I will happily remove the original mod from the Nexus

2. The text on the loading screen is always amber, regardless of HUD colour

3. Messageboxes are broken with long text. Please see the related screenshot:

Darn doesn't use FOD H20 and SLP, it uses HUN, THR and SLP.

We still haven't added a Fatigue gauge, will somewhen.

The message box thing is weird and sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. No idea why.

Dunno what the loading screen issue is.

As for the CND gauge, you can add an alpha to it so you can control it like the other things in oHud.

This is actually quite simple, as I found out after some searching in the XMLs. In "menus\prefabs\darn\duiNVExtras.xml" add one line to the "<rect name="rbExtraInfo">" block:

Before:

Code: Select all

	<visible>
		<copy src="io()" trait="_NVSEHUD" />
		<and src="io()" trait="_xStatsArmorCND" />
		<and src="io()" trait="_xArmorIsWorn" />
	</visible>
After:

Code: Select all

	<visible>
		<copy src="io()" trait="_NVSEHUD" />
		<and src="io()" trait="_xStatsArmorCND" />
		<and src="io()" trait="_xArmorIsWorn" />
		<and src="io()" trait="_iHUD_CND" />
	</visible>

Hi all! I just thought I'd draw attention to something I've noticed recently. Whether this is intentional or not I don't know, but some Notes in the Pip-Boy with the note scroll limit have their lines of text cut off (see Pictures 1 and 2). Is there any way to fix this, for example, by increasing the scroll limit on the scroll bar itself? I want to be able to read my notes properly :) Image Image

Hi, people. I've found this problem downloading the mod. Is this normal and will be temporary as stated, or the file was deleted/moved? I've tried downloading the mod with Chrome and Firefox, and the same message appears. :cry:

It's working for me. So it might have been a temporary problem.
Try it again and see if it works. If it doesn't, maybe try downloading it using a different browser.

the link to the green cursor file is dead.

it points to a google drive page that says

"Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist.

Make sure that you have the correct URL and the file exists."
