Teens can, but all the kids

Post by LT Albrecht » Sun Apr 14, 2013 11:53 am

Teens can, but all the kids in lamplight are ~12, they kick them out too early to reliably replenish their numbers, sure a human *can* reproduce at 14, but the odds of success aren't great for another year or two and that's when they boot them out on their 16th birthday. Unless you're suggesting that lamplight is some creepy hole of child sex that needs to be filled with fire, the place still makes no sense.

In my mod, I'm handling it so

Post by retlaw83 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 1:58 pm

In my mod, I'm handling it so kids lived there with their parents, parents got killed or enslaved by raiders and the raiders ignored the kids because they weren't worth the bullets and they didn't want to drag them along and have extra mouths to feed.

The kids make it on there own for another five years or so, with the youngest among them at the time being twelve when then the mutants attack out of Vault 87.  The kids (with the exception of Biwwy) flee into the wastes and found Big Town, where you meet them five or so years later.

This is, of course, if I can figure out how to get the work I've done compatible with TTW 2.2. Since the update a lot of Fallout 3 NPC and armor references seem to have changed and I have no idea how to efficiently find the new formids.

There's a script, IIRC.

That script is only for going

That script is only for going for FO3 to TTW2.0. TTW1.4 to 2.0 must be done by hand.

I'm guessing the only way is to crack open the GECK without my mod loaded, load it up in FNVEdit, then see what the new forms are?

Any reference that cannot be

Any reference that cannot be resolved, change the first two digits to match Fallout3's load order. Then try to run the conversion script again.

Thank you.  This turns it

Thank you.  This turns it from a nightmare to a minor inconvenience.

I changed all the formids in

Post by retlaw83 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:28 pm

I changed all the formids in NVEdit and the GECK still vomits all sorts of errors and crashes. Looks like I have to redo all the changes to vanilla content I made. The power armor is going to be a pain in the dick.

EDIT: Salvaged the power armor but am redoing everything else - looks like a blessing in disguise because of how stupidly I made the edits to getting rid of things in Little Lamplight - a lot of deleting instead of disabling.

As a bit of an update, I have

As a bit of an update, I have a few more NPCs to create (mainly a new Big Town resident and an elite Enclave squad called The Undertakers) then I'll be ready to start inserting the quest and reputation system content.  The Enclave Broken Steel missions will be a separate add-on as they will be a ton of work.
