Vertibird Hunting in TTW

This thread deals specifically with vertibird (or any flying units) shutan~ if it cant be shot and explode, it doesnt mean sheeeeeeesh~
Excluding OA: This mean the flying aircrafts that appear frequently in OA is excluded because they are just images, you cant shoot it. The sole vertibird scene that has them dropping American heavy unit right before assault the forcefield, I was too excited to remember shooting it~
Excluding Bear Force One? I havent tried shooting it so I dont know.

Including: vertibird triggered/scripted events in DC areas. I am going to list all the known F3 triggered scenes, because there's difference between them and TTW triggered scenes. Alphabetical order.
Note: there's a few items didnt mentioned in wikia, so, looking forward to that~

Important note: if you destroy vertibird before it release soldiers and bots, they are gone, wont respawn again. But once they release, you kill the bird and cause a nuke explosion that kill them, they will respawn again~ This is so you know when to kill the bird to suit your purpose.

1. Alexandria Arms
After approaching Alexandria Arms from Arlington Library, a vertibird will land and drop off a contingent of Enclave soldiers (3-6) all in Tesla armor. They will commence attacking any raiders around the building. They are dropped in the middle of three or four cars. Uncertain if the scene of vertibird picking them up later will commence if you kill the bird right there.
2. Arlington Library's Talon camp
Following an alleyway on the right side of this building, there's a scripted event where one vertibird will drop two mini nukes on a group of Talon Company mercs upon entering the camp, then another will bomb the place coming from the opposite direction after exiting the camp towards the water then re-entering it.
3.Broadcast tower KT8
Approaching from the north, through a ravine, 2 vertibirds fly overhead with missiles following them. At least one of the missiles lands, destroying one of the vertibirds, whose wreckage lands in the ravine in front/on top of you. Super mutants hold the high ground, equipped with missile launchers and small arms.
OR you can coc ffradiotower06 then go northward to Shalebridge. At that moment some super mutants will be spawn on KT8's radio tower. 2 vertibirds will be flow from the tower toward that, spawning a ground team that will move from the Shalebridge's enclosed area toward KT8's ravine. Scratch this, it's a random encounter between that spot and the enclosed area.
4. Chryslus Building (FFEnclaveCamp34)
From the fast travel point (under the bridge near the shelter) head directly along the road to (beware of a super mutant master/overlord, depending on player level battling a Talon Merc and a sentry bot next to) a truck. Midway from the point to the truck, now go back toward the point. Just a few step, around the explodable car near the bridge, a vertibird fly overhead to drop a sentry bot and two Enclave soldiers on the bridge.
The trigger is from the direction of the truck toward the point, going backward wont trigger it.
5. Canterbury Commons, Hill in the north
After approaching the house near the water tower, a vertibird lands and drops off 1 Enclave soldier in Tesla armor and 1 Enclave soldier in Enclave power armor. There may also be 3 Talon Company mercs that they engage.
Uncertain which trigger this. Prior to finding V87 and completing Canterbury quest doesnt trigger. Possibly after return from Raven Rock.
6. Enfant Enclave Raid
L'Enfant Plaza, A Vertibird drops 3 Enclave soldiers in Tesla armor with plasma rifles just north of Madame Jealle's. They proceed to fight the super mutants there unless they spot you.
7. Rockbreaker's Last Gas
To the west of Rockbreaker's Last Gas is a hill with an abandoned shack (coc SniperShack). This shack contains the Victory rifle in a Very Hard safe, the Keller family transcript part 4 of 5, two unusually small pet radroaches named Fluffy and Jitters and some ammunition. Upon exiting the shack, a vertibird flies over, lands on a lower hill to the northwest, and disgorges a sentry bot and an Enclave soldier in Tesla armor.
8. Rockopolis
Head straight to Rockopolis from Smith Casey's Garage then walk between the cliffs heading towards Girdershade from Rockopolis. Two fly overhead going east one at a time.
The best direction to hunt them is to go from the abandoned Enclave camp northwest of Girdershade going northward. The ravine is in the way, follow it (and not going on the ledge). 1st bird will go from behind to northward, 2nd bird will diagonal from one side of the ravine to another. They are very fast and the time window to fire is so short, normal reflex is unlikely to hit both. Best tip is to use one or two Turbo at the mouth of ravine before crouching to go in, equip plasma caster with maximized MF cells.
9. SatCom Array NW-07c
On the very top of the unlocked SatCom tower, there is a scripted scene in which at least one vertibird will fly over the player towards the Enclave base. In TTW, shooting down one will very likely explode all.
10. Seward Square northwest
A large fight between a half dozen Talon Company mercs with Mister Gutsies and a few super mutants is suddenly interrupted as a vertibird flies over the Capitol building and carpet bombs all participants with mini nukes. Any survivors will continue the scuffle unperturbed.
From the office building go toward the capitol entrance. The bird will rise from behind that entrance direction and go directly across to throw nukes across the square (around the coffee camp)
11.Seward Square southeast
As you approach the Metro station at Seward Square Southeast (from sewardsquaresouth), a vertibird will land and drop off a sentry bot and Enclave soldier wearing Enclave Hellfire armor.
12. Seward Square Flyover
An Enclave Vertibird will fly by if you approach the entrance to the metro. Best trigger is from sewardsquaresouth go toward the metro. The bird will rise from behind the building on right side of metro, go tobeyond the office building/sky bridge. The fire window is so short Turbo and plasma caster is a must.
13. Silver Lining Drive In Vertibird
Looking southeast a vertibird appeared on the horizon landed just across a gully, and disgorged an Enclave soldier in Tesla armor and a sentry bot.

14.Takoma Park
When passing by Nifty Thrifty's, a Vertibird will fly overhead. (TTW332: no fly~ there might be scripts failed to run or something)(retest after Broken Steel, visit 1st time, still not trigger)
15. Temple of the Union (on the highway to the southwest) (FFEnclaveCamp38)
As you travel on the road that runs under the highway, a vertibird lands on the highway above and disgorges 4 troops. There were 2 Enclave soldiers and 2 sentry bots. If you take your time moving up the off-ramp, the Enclave troops will combat the raiders. Distracted, they are easier to take out. It appears that, if you wait long enough, the sentry bots disappear or run off the edge of the highway, destroying themselves on impact. (It also seems possible to trigger at least a second vertibird landing, though no additional troops appear to be released. It is possible this is meant to be an Enclave raid and that the second landing is intended to pick up the Enclave forces that remain from the first landing./comment: This F3 part is not possible in 322 and 332)
In TTW332, this wont trigger if you havent completed Head of State quest (which spawn raiders in the fort)
16.The Capitol Building
Coming from the west and eliminating the Talon Company mercenaries and super mutants a vertibird landed on a ledge a bit north of the stairs (and the west entrance). The party included 1 Enclave officer, 1 mind-controlled deathclaw, and 2-3 Enclave soldiers. The Vertibird remained at the position even after dispatching the passengers. The officer and the soldiers typically stay close to the parked Vertibird, making destroying it from a distance an easy way to dispatch the officer and hurt the soldiers.
The southern stair, when you go up a vertibird will fly from the rotunda structure to the Memorial.
17. VAPL-84 power station (FFEnclaveCamp32)
From coc point looking north northeast, just beyond the empty space of the collapsed highway, Move toward that direction. Slightly beyond the explodable car in the incline a vertibird dropped off 2 Enclave soldiers, one in the standard Enclave power armor and another in Tesla armor. They proceeded to head down to the coc point and set an ambush behind a pillar of the collapsed highway.
18. Vault 87
Vertibird will drop off 3 Enclave soldiers all in Enclave power armor armed with laser rifles. They will proceed toward the player along the very outskirts of the radiated area. This can be set up using the nearby super mutant spawn.
This is possibly after Raven Rock.
There is nothing like this here. There is something similar but it happen up north, relating to the broadcast tower and Shalebridge, waaaay far from V87.
19. Vault 108
Vertibird drops of 2 Enclave soldiers just south of Vault 108.
This is possibly after Raven Rock.
20.Vault 101
Just north of Vault 101. Look for a parked Vertibird.
21. Jocko
Upon EXITING Jocko , a bird will fly from right side to the empty space beyond the ruined house ahead of Jocko. There it will drop (slightly off the marker of FFEnclaveCamp30) an enclave team to fight with a spawned group of radscorpions
22. FFEnclaveCamp31
The ruined house right beside of the coc marker has a skill book, which trigger upon getting near a v bird fly to land and dropped troop on the dry swamp between the rock group and the railway. There they will fight with a spawned group of super mutants.
23. Town ruins
Off the coc FFEnclaveCamp35 is three ruined shacks. On the one with a few loot items lying around, getting near will trigger a bird flying to land a team southwest of said coc marker. There they will fight a group of spawned radscorpions.

This section deal with Broken Steel vertibird.
1. Satelite Ambush. This site has a some vertibirds flying about shooting at Prime Optimus and getting shot in return.
2. Adam Forward Base. Right getting out of the metro entry and up the stair there's 2 birds flying and one starting to get up from the landing zone. You can shoot down all 3 without any collateral damage.
3. On the way forward, past the quarto of turrets up high, there's a park ahead with landed vertibirds, and 2 more coming to drop troops on the roof.
4. Past that, is the end of the runway around Crawler Base. This got blocked by a force field, and a fierce battle happen when we get near with vertibirds flying, strafing, nuking etc all over the place. Worth 2-3 turbo just so you can see all the details and note all the birds. And of course several reloads.
5. The platform where there's a button to call down artillery? Ahead of it is a long street with the other end forcefielded and looking right at Crawler Base. A smaller battle happen with only the first bird up and down to nuke the BOS troops. Later on 3 birds lining up to fly by across the mouth of the street. You got a broke end of wall that allow a clear shot at the birds flying by.
6. The radio tower where we send command to open the ramp. That terminal is on top, on the outside. Around 30 second after we get there 2 or 3 vertibirds will flying around the tower and shoot it. So the threat range from heavy wounds to dead right there. The short time frame and tight window make Turbo and Tesla Cannon a must.
Getting in the ramp, and two floors inside. Let's assume you take the ladder and NOT the northern door.
7. The ladder lead to a semi-closed room with robots and hellfire troopers outside. The moment you step out to the stair down, a vertibird will fly out to the left and drop a team a little farther away. Easy to shoot it down, but not easy to shoot all the infantry until they move out of that pretty defensive quarter.
And then, moving out of that room, to the left there's two more birds flying out to shoot at YOU.
Then move toward the room at the next tower, there's a bird will fly to the other side of the tower to drop a team on that helipad there.
That's it. That's about all the bird scenes at AFB sector.
