Enemy spawns on Loading
Hello there,
I wanna know if this an engine bug, or if there is something wrong with my mod list. Thing is, that sometimes when I load my game, enemies, that should have been in this area, but were not when I saved the game, suddenly "appear"/spawn, right next to me. For example, I didn't see any of the mantis that should have been guarding the Vault 22 entrace, but after loading the game, they were all there, bashing my chin in.
Help / suggestions / info would be appreciated.

Provide a load order if you want help troubleshooting.
Produces the programming equivalent of coffee stains.

Guess I paraphrased it wrong when I said " or if there is something wrong with my mod list". Question is, can stuff like that happen if you for example have too many mods active (->engine limit), or too many enemy spawner mods (too many spawns per cell?)? Posting my load order wouldn't mean anything since I have heavily modified stuff within plugins (and renamed some stuff too). I am just interested to know on what could cause this.

This is a common bug in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It's in the engine, not the mods. You'll come up on an area where you KNOW there should be spawns and they aren't there. Save the game. Quit. Restart the game and POING!! They're there. This is VERY common. In vanilla FO3, you see it most commonly with Super Mutant camps, like the one past the big bridge across the river, right before the Jefferson Memorial. It also happens with raiders and ghouls and creatures.Vlan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 3:16 pmHello there,

I'll commonly save and restart when nearing a major spawn point just to make sure the spawns are actually there when I reach the point. Otherwise it's no fun just walking into an empty camp. Just don't save INSIDE the spawn point or they'll spawn right next to you when you reload, which may or may not meet your definition of "fun".

We have no info on the actual issue though, or do we? With all the exciting stuff happening in the NV modding community at the moment, it's only a matter of time until this gets fixed too (hopefully). Though I suspect that it's a far far deeper problem with the engine, so that even iranmrmf is not able to fix it.jlf65 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 8:17 pmThis is a common bug in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. No, I know of no other info on it. It would be nice if something like Stewie's Tweaks had a fix for that some day. I suspect it's probably the end result of a hundred small issues rather than just one thing you can patch.

Re: Enemy spawns on Loading
Any new revelations about this bug?
Today I noticed it again in the Turtledove Detention Camp where all Robot Army spawns and all turrets BUT ONE were missing. It's absolutely weird. Why would most of the spawns, but that one turret spawn not work? Doesn't seem to be a cell issue either, otherwise none of them would have spawned since all of them were in the same cell.
It's unbelievable how much this bug is pissing me off. Are we absolutely certain that this bug also appears in Vanilla Fallout New Vegas / Fallout 3 without any mods?

Re: Enemy spawns on Loading
Does that mean that giving all those WastelandSpawnREF's Persistent Object/Quest flags will fix the problem?
