In Rivet City there are two beds in the common room the player can sleep in for free, that also come with free, safe storage.

Enter the common room and turn left into the smaller room. The bed against the wall at the end straight down from the door, and the bed immediately to your right are both player owned, and the footlockers at the foot of each one are player owned, safe storage.

Post by rbroab » Sat Jul 18, 2015 5:56 am

During the quest "The Waters of Life" when both Dad and Colonel Autumn are exposed to the radiation, it is possible to loot their corpses.

By crouching next to the glass, switching your camera to third person view, keep your character looking forward at the corpses while spinning the camera slowly so you are looking downward at your player characters face.

This might take a try or two, but this is (I believe) the only way to pickup Dad's Wasteland Outfit, and a way to loot Colonel Autumn's 10mm Pistol and armor earlier.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

An annoying bug that most people probably dont know : non hitscan missile weapons (such as the missile launcher and fatman) do no impact damage when fired outside of VATS.

Also the HE damage bonus applies to impact damage only, not the explosion.

Ok this will be a wall of text until I can get my screenshots to work. The easiest way to describe the area is using "Take it back" as a reference. During Liberty Prime's walk you cross the bridge and turn right down a hill. Bottom of the hill is a barrier, you go under a skybridge during the walk down that normally has super mutants with a mini gun or missile launcher. There is a way to get into the sky bridge. At the base of the hill on the left are stairs that lead up to a metro entrance. When you get to the metro entrance turn around so the metro is at your back and stairs are on the left and head towards the building and rubble. Near the rubble is a "hole" that is a stairwell to a door that leads into the building. You can follow the stairs up to the sky bridge. Found this by following Lucky's guard go on a rampage against the mutants. I'll post pics asap.

If life is but a test, where's the damn answer key?!?!?

Brahmin Tipping...LOL.

I've known about MOST of the above for quite some time, tho' certainly not all of them. THX for that.

As for Brahmin tipping, knew that too, but never really tried it [barring a few tries to see if it worked, which it does]

But then "Willow" asked me to go Brahmin tipping with her...

Now we have some fun at the Brahmins' expense a couple of times a week...

Turn Cook-Cook into Gordan

Turn Cook-Cook into Gordan Ramsey

In NV, there's an NCR quest where you have to collect three heads, one of which belongs to a Fiend named Cook-Cook.  In order to save yourself some trouble by taking on the whole gang at once (they are in a burnt out building with some pretty great cover), simply save your game and snipe his prize bramin, Queenie, from a distance.  This will send Cook-Cook into a factionless murderous frenzy and he will attack his buddies who will, being the kind ladies and gentlemen they are, will attack him right back.  After the commotion has died down (pun intended), you can either snipe the survivors from a distance or move in and mop up.

I don't normally like to use VATS, but I use it just for the targeting of the cattle, so I pop the right one the first time, exiting out of vats once I am pointed right at the one I need to kill.

I recommend the savegame just in case one of the attackers mangles his head.  You need it intact for the reward.

i have to say, after considerable testing, the "loud weapon in stealth" trick doesn't work in FNV mechanics.  i recall it worked in FO3 mechanics though, which would be why there was never silenced sniper rifles.

I just found out that if an enemy is using AP ammo and bypasses your DT, you still get the shield icon as if they aren't bypassing your DT but take full damage. Your armor doesn't get damaged either.

E.G. You have 15 DT, get shot at by an ammo with -20 DT, the blue shield icon popups to indicate you are blocking 80% damage, but you take full damage anyway and your armor doesn't get damaged just like if the enemy isn't bypassing your DT.

After reaching the Engineering Core on Mothership Zeta, take a look at the local map. Besides the three quest locations, there are a few more to explore, including Cargo Hold with ton of stuff.

PS I can have a sniper rifle from level 1? That's swell!
