Level 9, 100-120? hours in.

Post by rescue86k » Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:11 am

I should take a screenshot somehow of the save, somewhat hilarious. I don't mind for entertainment.

I'm playing a mostly vanilla experience in TTW, exclude that I have awop, interiors, and xp reduction (50) and 4x slower leveling. So if you killed 1 radroach, I have to kill 8. for same XP. I didn't look last time but maybe I'm at about 120 hours into game at level 9. It doesn't count when I die /restart and when game could crash etc. I estimate easily 150-200 total hours in, still level 9.

I'm mostly here to share what could need change in TTW for balance. Been to both wastelands and its pretty lol. Far from overpowered, and be like that a long time. Getting tired actually, could have beat game few times or something by now right?

For balance, I recommend replacing Super Mutants in the union station with raiders. Make it easier to access. Slower leveling is well balanced actually. Kill stuff in F3, go to FNV, kill stuff, go back and forth. Its fun, just need raiders to fight instead and make station accessable closer to super duper mart. Connect it with a station, also add quest to make it easier to find, quests, just tell you where to go, so that be helpful.

Once in Vegas, Make legion and ncr assasin encounters leveled based on your progression of the story. Also make them more rare. They happen what feels every other day or something. Its pretty often and just makes more sense they would start weak and get stronger as you progressed in quests/storyline.

I think FNV is unleveled, so I experience all enemies. If this is true, FNV needs its factions buffed. Not all of them but like 1 in every 5-7 should have new modded armor not normally in vanilla that makes them stronger than anything in F3. Don't include powder gangers as they are the first things you fight in game. So say legion has centerions. Need a new even stronger enemy. Added to their army. That should help.

Walter is completely balanced. Maybe I havent found an exploit. By the time I gather 320 scrap metal from awop dungeons and practically explore a ton of fnv,.. thats really not a lot. The librarian however. I'm afraid if I take the perk to make books to those books she accepts, that it will ruin the playthrough and I'll quickly level to 50 from ruined books. I've collected and sold 1000s of damaged books, i mean that number. 1000s, been scavenging everything. Im unsure but if the caps and exp is high for turning in prewar books to her, then I'd rather not take the perk. I'll exploit and level like crazy. I love the idea of doing it, if the exp and caps is low. I can easily scrap up a 100 books for her, (damaged). 3-500 will take a few days of dungeon grinding.

The ten penny tower needs a fast travel location just outside a door that would lead to the suite. NEEEDS. Thx for the casino located inside.

I would say the most important thing is NCR/LEGION/VIPER/ etc etc (not super mutant) buffs. Don't buff them on the way to the strip. Need union station free of it. By buff I mean I need more heavily armored "looking"/new armors for new enemies in those factions. An armor that looks tough but isnt when I take it, so really its just increasing the hp of the new enemies. And having them placed everywhere you don''t want a level 10-30 to go. Great Khans are very weak all around.

I'm mostly thinking this as the last fight is the dam, so i'd like that fight to be tougher than all DLCs all of f3 pits you against. Something only a level 60 can beat easily. Since you level to 50, should be hard!

Some of those things are outside the scope of TTW.If you want those to happen, gotta learn how to mod.TTW is balance exactly as it should be.

The super mutants at Union Station are fine. Just bring armor piercing ammo. This has been commented on many times, but super mutants in FO3 are now more like those in FONV, and should be fought more like the ones in FONV. I've fought super mutants at level 2, and they're tough, but not that big a deal... if you have the right ammo. Get some 5.56mm AP from Moira or Lucky Harith, use the Chinese Assault Rifle from Bryan Wilks house, and you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Honestly, I personally find super mutants are so easy to kill with the right ammo and weapons, except the overlords.
Even the brutes and masters die so easily with Xuanlong and lots of M/AP ammo.
I recommend 'selling' sensor units (they are everywhere) to Casdin so you he can give you some items you need.

Yeah, the overlords are a real b*tch, even with a real gauss gun with flechettes. Fortunately, you don't run into them until later levels. And I wouldn't say the normal level super mutants are EASY at low levels... just not hard with the right ammo and weapons.
