I made some texture replacers for the metro maps used in-game to be actually useful.

I based these on the nice map from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/2kgml3/i_decided_to_map_the_underground_system_of/

I'm probably not going to work on it more, but if someone wants to edit them further, here's the file. It's giant, I'm not a good texturer :P .

Very cool. I've been using this one for quite some time: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/20005/?

It's good to see a better one to replace it. cool

Could someone possibly create a .esp for this? I must have something that overwrites the default texture in my load order. This mod looks great and its really disappointing to not be able to utilize it.

Thanks in advance if anyone takes up the endeavor.

It's a texture replacer, it doesn't need an esp.

Then it must be set to the wrong folder path in the download, Data\textures\architecture\urban -- was this changed for TTW from the original location of the Fallout 3 texture for the Metro Map? Or is there something else that could cause it to not be working properly?

Thanks for the help Roy; even lurking its hard not to recognize your name and the incredible work you do.

That is the correct path, try toggling archive invalidation.

Toggling did it, thanks!

And the metro map itself is about 10000x more useful than the default, thanks for implementing this pintocat.

I might be overlooking something, but isn't this supposed to be a prewar map? Why would there be markers for postwar locations like "flooded metro" and "ant nest?" Or is this mod not meant to be lore friendly?

Moira Brown made some updated maps and asked some random person to go around and replace the old ones a few years before Vault 101 opened it's doors again. Because that would improve the lives of many scavengers.

It's supposed to be a useful map in game that looks weathered so it's not bright white. I didn't make the original map, I had no say in the text and didn't feel like that much work to edit it. It already took a few hours to do the dirt and stuff. It's what I wanted, if you want something different the gimp file is in the op with all the separate dirt layers etc. Have at it
