Black screen

Post by Loudog » Wed Sep 27, 2017 7:23 pm

After setting up my sons ttw an issue occurs when starting a new game in dc, there is the hud at the bottom (which shouldn't be there as the childbirth is the first scene) and the screen is all black. When the game is ran by itself (fo3) it loads and plays correctly.

i5 8gb standard load order etc. Mine is working fine so not sure why his is borked. Going to try a start at doc's house.

Nope same thing there. Any ideas?

Hmmm, damn, I think I forgot to tell him to run the exe as admin. Going to give that a go.

Make sure you have no overlay software running like Overwolf.

The young man has done many things and still no go. When he does a file validation check with steam he has 1 file that for some reason will not validate. Sometimes technology doesn't suck. sometimes Steam does.

The ini files will fail all the time, just ignore them.

Is ENB installed? If so remove it.

Generally don't use enb as the Imaginator mod (Cool Blue preset) gives me enough vibrance without the performance hit. I get off of work mon-thurs so we plan on working on it then. We will get er done eventually, no rush rush here in Wyoming. Will check and see if he deleted the my games file with the ini's.

So with much work (my son, I just pointing the way) the young man has TTW working with one quirk he still would like to iron out. Wether he chooses vault 101 or Doc Michels house he starts at Doc Michels. He would like to start at vault 101.

Remove the optional for select and make sure the ini edits are in place in all 3 fallout ini's like the manual installation instructions indicate.

MO works, don't make a fomod

Post by RoyBatty » Thu Dec 21, 2017 4:57 pm

MO works, don't make a fomod and create folders to do it. I think Adonis has made a guide on STEP or GrantSP can help you with MO.

Avoid NMM, it will never work.

For FOMM tutorials, see Gopher's videos for Fallout 3.
