Why do you start with only one set of Security Armor? You can loot multiple sets in the Vault. It would be useful to have at least one spare set for a companion, in my opinion. It's not like you can easily get the security armor later in the game, if you prefer it for aesthetic reasons over other armor.
True, but roleplaying wise it makes sense that you'd only grab what you need while you're trying to escape.
It also bugged me at first because I'm a serial looter of all things visible, but it makes sense.
It also gives you the stuff from the locked picture which technically in vanilla you'd only get much later, including 300 caps, which should be enough to get a companion a decent entry level outfit.

The Quick Start is for the "Good" path so you have access to the most content later. You can't loot armor from living people.

It's my mod, not an optional. I do what I want. :)

I agree.
Sorry if it sounded like I was criticizing you about the picture things - I wasn't :?

In Vanilla TTW you can loot the picture before leaving the vault if you do your build right and then loot the outfit from the dead engineer. You can then respec at the door on your way out.

I never realized you could actually complete Vault 101 without killing at least some of the guards. I should try that some time, and see how it goes; I imagine you need to tag sneak or play on Easy?

Of course! Sorry if I worded my question like a demand; I was just curious as to the rationale vis a vis what items you chose to give the player. I don't expect you to change anything.

You start the game with a dead dude's glasses, a closet full of clothes, and lots of random junk that you have no use for, as well as several bottles of vodka.

Roy's explanation makes sense, he was avoiding any murder, which makes sense because it leaves more stuff open for later. However, he definitely wasn't going for logical role-playing! One vault suit is supposed to last a really long time, nobody needs twelve of them!

Yeah, you can leave the vault without killing any guard. I always do that.

You just have to run. You can stop and help Butch's mother while the first guard is busy with the radroaches. Then you run and run. You can skip talking to the Overseer, but still looting the guards equipment from the lockers, and then run some more. If you manage to reach the overseer office, close the door behind you and the guards will not open it. So they won't keep attacking you while you open the escape tunnel and run. After you open the vault's door, just run out of it before the other guards appear to attack you, they will refuse to leave the vault. :D

Yep I usually do the pacifist play too, and I can even grab all that crap by dodging them even if they are attacking me no matter what difficulty. The armor comes from guard the Amata kills if you leave her the 10mm pistol. :D

I've never done that. I've always killed officer Mack myself. I never realized that Amata shoots him if you give her the gun. TIL.

You just reminded me of my old thread of stuff people might not know about FO3/FNV/TTW:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1458
I thought everybody knew about Amata killing the guy with the gun (I also always let her have the gun so she kills him), but once I have some time, I will add this one to the thread.

I also need to clean it up and format it properly, because some old threads and posts got weird formatting after the site move.
