Awful Performance in TTW 3.3

Post by kirito34 » Mon Apr 18, 2022 7:10 am

As the title says, I get extremely poor sub 60 fps performance in some areas/directions in the Capital Wasteland section of TTW. I have all of the performance and stability mods installed, NVTF, JIP plug in, and other common performance mods.

I used to have no issue getting a constant 60fps in a modded NV WITHOUT TTW so I'm confused as to why my fps is so bad, It'll jump all over the place from 75 to 60 and then lower, its never stable even if I cap it to 60fps. I've tried looking everywhere and followed various guides from people like GamerPoets etc and I'm close to the point of uninstalling and giving up.

Specs: GTX 1050 I5 7400 8GB RAM 2TB HDD Windows 10 (Most Recent Update 17/4/22)

All power options are set to maximum performance as well as in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Remove OneTweak and play in fullscreen.

Don't use old guides, only follow our installation guide. Those old guides are out of date.

I play in Fullscreen with DXVK 1.10.1 and vSync turned on. Performance is wonderful, even in Freeside (Freeside Open) and the Strip (Strip Open) where my old Geforce 770 GTX with 4GB VRAM struggled. Now I'm running an AMD RX 6600 XT with 8GB VRAM.

My settings for NVTF:
SpoilerShow
[/code]
[Main]
bGTCFix = 1
bFastExit = 1
bRedoHashtables = 1
bModifyDirectXBehavior = 1
bEnableThreadingTweaks = 1
bAllowDirectXDebugging = 0

[GTC]
bFPSFix = 1
bAlternateGTCFix = 0
bRemoveGTCLimits = 0

[ThreadingTweaks]
bRemoveRCSafeGuard = 1
bTweakMiscCriticalSections = 1

[FPSFix]
iMaxFPSTolerance = 60
iMinFPSTolerance = 10
bfMaxTime = 1
fDialogFixMult = 2.0000
bSpiderHandsFix = 1

[DirectX]
bUseDefaultPoolForTextures = 1
bToggleTripleBuffering = 0

[Hashtables]
bResizeHashtables = 1
[/code]
My settings for DXVK:
SpoilerShow

Code: Select all

dxvk.enableAsync = true
d3d9.maxAvailableMemory = 8192
Of course you need to set the amount of memory to whatever your graphics card has.

And don't forget to use the Heap Replacer DLL with the best instruction set for your CPU. For an Intel Core i7-4770 this is AVX2 for example.

Update

I downloaded the 2022 DXVK Vulcan mod and the performance is liquid smooth. The frame syncing is also wonderful without GSync. Zero hitching and no load stuttering.

I am using NVTF

I play in windowed mode

I also find that setting Vsync to " Fast " works well for this game on my System.

Absolutely use Vulcan if you can. Its night and day.
