Upgrading Skyrim VR

I've started playing Skyrim VR, and on the right hardware, it's great. But there's one major annoyance: It was forked from a Skyrim SE build that came before the game stopped counting ESLs against the load order limit. (It can run ESL-flagged ESPs, but it counts them all.) Life would be so much easier if Skyrim VR could be upgraded to a new SE version that DID support virtually unlimited ESLs and/or ESL-flagged ESPs.
