If Zen 2 cpus provide better single thread performance, i'll wait for them.
However, if the 2600x or 2700x is enough, i'll go with either and a B450 board.
The 2600 seems to be enough to run TTW with a 1440p monitor. Not sure
Anyone waiting for Zen 2?

Re: Anyone waiting for Zen 2?
I have R5 1600 at stock(so probably around 10% or so slower than 2600 in single-core), and the only area I've had noticeable FPS issues in is the trenches near the end of Operation: Anchorage, where 1 core hits 100% and there's lots of stuttering(it should be noted that I also had the same problem with vanilla Fallout 3). So unless your monitor is better than 60Hz, a 2600(x) is sufficient(and as an aside, if gaming is your main concern, there's little to no reason to go for a 2700(x)).

Thank you for a reply. Already have a samsung pm 961 512gb(an nvme ssd) and a gtx 1060. (Both are used, no matter) Hope the 2600 works well with them.Keats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:16 pmI have R5 1600 at stock(so probably around 10% or so slower than 2600 in single-core), and the only area I've had noticeable FPS issues in is the trenches near the end of Operation: Anchorage, where 1 core hits 100% and there's lots of stuttering(it should be noted that I also had the same problem with vanilla Fallout 3).
