Question about Tale of Two Wastelands and existing mods

So I'm currently about to complete a modded playthrough of fallout new vegas, and afterwards I wanted to install TTW and play fallout 3. My question is if I install all the appropriate patches for the mods I have, can I install TTW while my new vegas mods are already installed, or do I need to install TTW first, and then install the mods again?

Make a separate profile for TTW, and only use mods that work with it.
