Vendor lists

Post by Jmsborland97 » Fri Jul 12, 2019 11:57 pm

Has anyone got any pointers/advice on how i can add items to vendors. I want to add a backpack mod to the vendors in the Capital Wasteland, mainly Moira Brown, I've had a quick look in Xedit but not sure where to start. This is only for my personal use

Here's some images to get you started in FNVEDIT:

1.Load TalesofTwoWastelands.esm and all its dependencies:

2.Expand the TalesofTwoWastelands.esm and expand the subcategory "container"

3.Sort by clicking on "EditorID":

4.Scroll to find the "VendorChestsBuriedXYZ":

These are all the vendor's chests tied to what the NPCs are selling.
- Make sure to create a new .esp as a patch for you to edit and do not tamper any .esm.
- Make sure whichever NPC's chests you edited you have to check the category he/she is selling.
e.g if you add new weapons, that NPC will have to have the weapons category checked for the new weapons to appear:

I alternate between FNVEDIT and Geck +Extender when modding depending on which view I needed, i.e form in fnvedit and visual in geck.

Anyway the above is a more traditional/noobish(?) method but there is a scripted way to add items to vendors. For that I recommend you take a look at https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66594 or contact the author himself for more advices.

Whenever I create a new esp. file I have to save it in the FNV directory. How can I save the esp. in a different place, I just want to archive it so I can install it with MO2

You can just move it. It doesn't NEED to be where FNVEdit saves it. Make an arc of it, delete the original, then install it via the mod manager.

That's what I have been doing, Just wondered if there was another way. Either way I cant seem to get the plugin to work, once I install it, it has no effect in game and wont show up in Moira's inventory
