Fallout No Vegas? Abnormally low render/draw distance [FIXED]

Post by SlimJhm » Sat Jul 10, 2021 11:23 am

So I've been playing TTW, kinda adding mods as I went through FO3, most of which added once I got to New Vegas. But I've recently come across a really bizarre issue that I can't seem to fix. And I only noticed it when I got to the Mojave Outpost, upon leaving I noticed that nothing beyond the bottom of the hill was loading. I couldn't see the broken overpass next to the reststop, the rollercoaster in Primm, or the smoke from Nipton. I couldn't even see the two handshaking statues from Nipton. Another thing I noticed was that the big glowing vegas strip and lucky 38 was nowhere to be seen until I went north just past Jean Sky Diving. I've tried updating my LODGen, disabling it completely, disabling texture mods. My fade settings are maxed in-game and my game INI's haven't been modified at all so I don't know what the problem is. Could it be ReShade?

Mod conflicts. Go read the threads on okay and bad mods. Also remember that old 2.x TTW mods don't work on TTW3.

Another thing to keep in mind; whenever you add more mods in an ongoing save you want to put them at the bottom. However, esm files always load before esps so all your esps get pushed down( and possibly other esms also ).

So if you changed your load order by installing a bunch of mods mid-playthrough then continued without starting over then that's probably the cause of your troubles. Especially considering you have one called New Vegas Landscape Overhaul.esm...

The landscape one I had to begin with. But turns out the LODs are fixed when I disable the LODGen Output files, had weird floating boxes tho, but managed to fix that with this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67649 And I uninstalled the Farms of the Wasteland mod as I failed to notice that it was outdated.

It "works" as long as you don't mind your aim being off.
Produces the programming equivalent of coffee stains.

Haven't noticed that yet. But if I come across it, then I'll consider uninstalling it.

Ok so turns out the real issue was that my Fallout.ini's sArchiveList wasn't set correctly as according to RoyBatty's post on generating LOD (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=7132)
