Game stops responding after picking name and face

This is my first time using TTW, so apologies if i'm making an obvious mistake.
Once i've picked my name and face, and James says 'I wonder what sort of person you'll be', nothing happens.
I've got a load order of 80+, and I don't have any incompatible mods as far as i'm aware, other than PN.

This is where the traits menu should open, make sure you update to 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 incremental patches. Make sure JIPLN NVSE is up to date, and make sure windows defender or your antivirus has not deleted the jipnvse or ttw_nvse plugins from Data/NVSE/Plugins
