Rex Disapearing

I had rex as a companion and I sent him to the Lucky 38 so I could finish ED-E's quest then I went to finish Rex's quest and he has completely disappeared from the game, I am aware this a vanilla bug but I assumed that YUP would've fixed this.

He's probably back at the King's. Thought I fixed that though... you can always get his refid, and move to him to figure out where he went. Its possible one of the mods you are using broke him.

Yeah I managed to “fix” it I used the placeatme command and became companions with the new dog meat when I left the building the actual dogmeat spawned outside as well as my companion. The only for some reason the new one couldn’t use the companion wheel nor could I complete his quest so I had to go back to a previous in which I found this method.

Yeah, don't do that.

The placeatme command creates a new character, it doesn't place the original one near the PC.

It will mess up your game (sometimes in a big way). :?

I’m aware but it’s the only way the actual Rex would appear no other methods would work I didnt really have a choice

Then he was dead. Move on. The one you placeatme'd is completely broken.

Rex's original ref-id is 0010d8df. So, you should try:
"0010d8df".moveto player

If for some reason he has been disabled or died and the above doesn't work, you can additionally try:
"0010d8df".enable
and
"0010d8df".resurrect

Definitely not placeatme. That would create a new Rex who is not guaranteed to have the same behavior.

It generated a new rex then once I left the King's building the actual rex appeared... im aware that the newly generated rex wouldn't function the same and could break some stuff.
