Problem with NPC's dialog

Hi everyone

First of all i know this is issue is caused by a mod but i need some directions on where to start.
Basically i got the dreaded bug that causes some npcs that say ''what do you need'' when trying to talk to them, so far only scavengers from Fallout 3 and minor npcs have this issue but it conflicts as well with the someguy mods (nvbIII suffers the most of this).
I tried doing some tweaking on fnvedit in the dialog topic section but no luck so far so i decided to roll back the changes i made and wait for actual advice instead of breaking something.

Before some professional help arrive, you might want to check the FAQ viewtopic.php?f=50&t=6878 on incompatible mods and list out your load order.

Taken from the FAQ:
Mods with minor incompatibilities

1.New Vegas Bounties II - some of dogmeat's dialogue is hijacked for Guts, Roy is fixing up all of someguy's mods
2.Russell - Ghoul doctor from Caruthers Canyon will walk to and appear in Underworld due to reused marker/package

Lastly, mods that I know which will cause such bug were:
1.Jocelyn Companion
2.Children of the Wasteland 1.0

Also check the sticky topic on how to ask for help, we can't magically see your load order or your computer or setup. "It's broke" doesn't help us help you.

So far i managed to fix NVBIII with an fnvedit patch but some fallout 3 npcs (mostly merchants) still suffer from this, any help would be appreciated

It's mostly likely going to be voicetype/faction conditions on Greetings that are causing the problem, you'll have to patch whatever mods are removing the voice type checks.

Doing that fixed the problem, i knew someguy series mods didn't play nicely but i still wanted to give it a shot and see if i can patch it myself

Hey!

I'm having the same issue with generic NPCs as well as the ones in NVBIII. How would I go about patching the mods removing the checks in xEdit? Sorry if this isn't the place the ask. Still getting my feet wet with xEdit.

Ok, first of all I'm sorry for necro'ing this but I figure it'd be better than starting an whole new topic for no reason.´

I'm running into some issues with NVBIII as well. I've done a merge patch, making sure all of the "Greetings" from NVBIII in fnvedit are added to the merge patch (same as those from other quest mods/ mods that add new npc's) but some characters have no voice (initiating dialogue leads to the standard "What do you need?" text, unvoiced) which effectively shuts out part of the mod (the NCR bounties part, since Brookshire is one of the affected npc's).

I've even gone to the point of reloading the save with only TTW and NVBIII active and still this behavior occurs. Can somebody please tell me what am I doing wrong? I had no issues in either NVBI or II so this is more than a bit puzzling.

You have to merge dialogue conditions for the topics, and quests too, it's not an easy job.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to the issue Roy.

Since this isn't a issue with TTW proper I don't want to take too much of your time. Would you be able to point me to a guide/tutorial that can explain what I have to do in order to get this thing working? Or is it something beyond what an average user with fnvedit would be able to accomplish?
