FPS drop in Red Rock Canyon.

Post by idmfan » Wed Jan 30, 2019 11:01 am

Spec:
Ryzen 2700 3.2G (BIOS and CPU chipset latest version, use the ryzen specific power plan provided by the cpu chipset update)
GTX 1060 3G
Samsung PM961 NVMe ssd
Rams XMP'ed to 3000mhz, 16GB

Load order:
https://pastebin.com/avDi49Fy

Most Mojave areas run better than vanilla NV, but the red rock canyon is especially demanding.
BTW I use software named 'Not CPU Cores' found on Github. can this be a culprit?

Make sure FalloutNV.exe is allocated to one CCX unit. There's a significant performance penalty (~20% framerate hit when just processing draw calls) when the driver thread is on a different CCX than any thread that is communicating with it.

Edit:
Used 'Not CPU Cores' to allocate the exe file to one CCX unit. Flawlessly works.
Those who use a ryzen cpu could find that program on Github.

I wasn't there in TTW but I remember from my previous mod combo that "uncut" NPCs in that arena of theirs cause huge FPS drop. Particularly that 4 fighters in arena that constantly fight training dummies. Just removing one of them with "mark for delete" gave me like 20fps boost and removing another made that area run without any framerate drops.

a gtx 1060 can handle WRP, Book of steel and NV reloaded, right?
no wonder devs cut some details and NPCs....

Not sure what causes this, but for some reason starting a firefight in the cell seems to solve the issue. Idk whether this firefight needs to happen WITH the Great Khans or not, but starting a firefight definitely made my frames jump back above 60... for some reason :?
