Survivalism - Cooking in DC

Hello Friends, firstly a big thanks to all the contributors of TTW. The ultimate mod for fallout fans like me.

Finally got it up and running(I reckon so, get to choose to start in DC or Mojave. I watched some guy's video, his main game menu shows TTW graphic but mine shows NMC's texture instead)

Now since hardcore mode is the only mode I play, I can't produce any food when I reach Megaton. Is there anything that I overlooked or do I need to install additional mods for this important immersion? I do notice a TTW_MoreCookingItems.esp but without any description.

The descriptions don't show up in FOMM, unfortunately. It allows you to use BBQ grills and camp stoves as campfires, so that you have more places to cook. Mirelurk and MoleRat is the best way to go in the beginning. Until you bag some, living on preserved food is your best bet. If you are using the optional outcast trading plugin, the Outcasts will trade you MREs for tech.

Thanks JF. I noticed a hotplate house item at Moira's too.

By checking on the change logs I don't see any line stating the changes of skill book locations. In this fresh started game, I can't find the sneak skill book in the ruined silo house between Megaton and Super Duper Mart. Second unfound Guns Skill Book in Grayditch, will come back with more results.

Okay, 5 of each type are left in DC. Had to dig so hard for this.

Back to my survivalist setup, with fast travel disabled, what are the available options out there for transportation? Really miss the motorcycle, travel caravans in FWE, and the boats in ATMS.

Lastly, with a mod of this size, a detailed in game documentation might come in handy!

Oops forget about the Travel mods request. I did not notice there is already a mod directory.

I think the optional more

I think the optional more cooking thing in the MCM menu adds a hotplate to your list of upgrades you can buy from Moira for your Megaton house.  You can cook food with that, although DC friendly food recipes are sorely lacking compared to NV at least at low survival levels.  I generally find myself scarfing down raw radroach and ant meat for awhile.
