Budget pc build for 3.2

Post by idmfan » Mon Nov 12, 2018 9:31 am

I'm thinking about
I3 8350k 4ghz
Gtx 1060 or 1050ti
Evo 860 500g
8gb ram
to play 3.2 with AWOP and NVGE.
Should i wait for the 9th gen i3s?
Is the gtx 1060 still worth it?

hi, i don't know a lot about hardware however i have played fnv awop mod a lot. i have played it with a HEAVY amount of mods, upwards of 60 in my load order at any given time. i have a mid range pc and awop has always been one of my favorite mods. awop adds large and sometimes very computer taxing locations . the areas (in my opinion) are very detailed and have a lot of enemies. i have noticed even with my mid-range desktop pc from 2015 some stuttering but keep in mind i have a large amount of mods running. i don't typically use high end textures or the enb series either. i did, however notice that my (fairly good) gaming pc back from 2011 could play awop plus some other big mods like project nevada if i was careful with with the total amount of mods added. i never used texture mods back then. i guess what i am trying to say is this if you play with low textures and be careful with how many mods you play with at any given time, you should be fine. no guarantees however as i am not an expert with hardware. my curerent video card is a geforce gtx 760 and my cpu is an i5 4460
i really hope this helps! :D

my 2cents:
If your going 'budget' the graphics card choice is at least partially determined by your monitor.
If your monitor does not have G-sync you might consider a AMD 570/580 in 8 gig, its on par in most speeds in most games and that gives you 2 gig more texture space for about 40-80$ less, also if you want to go past 60hz on the monitor freesync monitors run $100+ cheaper, and that money saved can be put into an i5 for better CPU power giving you a bit more rounded computer.

Found a cheap bulk rx 570 8gb costs 142 usd. Hope it handles nvge's godrays, water shaders and bloom well. If an i3 even coffeelake(refreshed) is not enough for ttw and awops, should i buy a bulk i5 9600k? As for the motherboard, what do you think about an msi b360m mortar?
