Better inscription for the strength bobblehead

Post by Panzermann11 » Wed Sep 14, 2022 6:15 pm

This is something pretty small, but I noticed the inscription for the strength bobblehead is different than the one in the original Fallout 3. In TTW, it says "It's essential you can bear any weight placed upon your shoulders." while in the original Fallout 3, it says "It's essential to give your arguments impact.".

I propose a more better and fitting inscription of the bobblehead: "It's essential to add weight to your arguments.".
It's more in line with the original, but also the weight boost introduced by TTW instead of a permament +1 to strength.

The thing is that both "give your arguments impact" and "add weight to your arguments." mention "arguments" which leads to a misunderstanding with some players. They associate "argument" with speech instead of strength, this causes unnecessary confusion and then we get bug reports about how the bobblehead has the wrong description.

By making it to "It's essential you can bear any weight placed upon your shoulders." there's no more confusion, and it describes the new bobblehead effect in TTW perfectly.

Remember, TTW is not FO3 or FNV anymore, so changing a Bobblehead description that fits perfectly with TTW to be more in line with FO3 is kinda like taking a step back and trying to make TTW more FO3 than TTW.

I don't know if I managed to explain myself well, I haven't been getting much sleep for ages and it's hard to make myself clear. I apologise if I'm unclear.

The thing is that in FO3 the Strength Bobblehead increased the player strength by 1 point, which allowed more melee damage, carry weight and passing some strength related speech checks. The FO3 description focused on the intimidation part of strength.

In TTW the Strength Bobblehead only increases carry weight. The FO3 description doesn't fit that at all. The new TTW description does.

Oh. That's fair enough. I already said what I suggested is pretty small, so I'm sorry if I sound like I'm nit-picking. I didn't want to force you guys to make TTW in line with either games, though.

We appreciate suggestions, and I could see the point you were making.

You didn't sound like you were nitpicking so don't worry about that. :D

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I have been busy and forgot to answer before.
