Your better off waiting for 3.0. Having optional plugins hardly slows down the development time.The development time is long regardless.Besides,having certain things be optional allows more user's to have more freedom with how they want to play.

Or they become a fun diversion. Instead of going into vats with your pathetic 9mm and shooting them a dozen times to kill them like at level 1, you instead take off your armor, holster your gun, then run in and PUNCH the damn things to death!
