More awesome news

We already told you about the awesome Rock-it Launcher fix, now it is time to reveal more things.

The next version of TTW will include another two features that would have been impossible without some awesome magic, they are:

Weapons that ignore DT/DR will finally be fixed and ignore damage reduction and damage threshold like they should have from the start. Now Deathclaw and Yao Guai Gauntlets, Rippers, Chainsaws, Thermic Lances, Industrial Hands, etc are all fun to play with again!

A repair system similar to the one from Fallout 3 is now possible to implement on TTW. No more being able to repair everything to 100% with low repair skill, this also makes it so that the vendors that repair equipment will be more useful.

These two things should be toggleable in the TTW MCM.

Extra Extra, read all about it!

While you guys and girls are foaming through the mouth waiting for the release of 3.0, we will just give you this news:

TTW 3.0 will contain a fully fixed Rock-it Launcher!

Yes, you read it right, the Rock-it Launcher will work perfectly in TTW 3.0, it works in VATS mode and even shoots Fallout New Vegas-only clutter in addition to the Fallout 3 clutter.

If you want to thank us for our work making this a reality, you should direct the thanks to LuthienAnarion and jazzisparis. They were the geniuses that managed to do the heavy lifting to allow this to happen!

Now get ready to conquer two wastelands shooting teddy bears and dino toys!

TTW's Public Dev Log

Risewild's picture

Hello there TTW community.

Many of you might have noticed that TTW hasn't had an update in quite some time and some of you might also have noticed that we (the team) keep saying we are working on a massive update for the next release (3.0).

We know how busy and hard working everyone is about this new update, but for people that are not part of the team it might seem like we are not doing much (because you guys and gals can only see the end result, which is still in the making). So the team talked about it and decided to compile and release a "Public Dev Log".

TTW Gets Love from Obsidian

TrickyVein's picture

Obsidian held their 2nd Annual Extra Life Marathon Stream over Veterans Day Weekend.

Josh Sawyer was playing Fallout: New Vegas with his mod as part of the stream. During that segment, Josh was asked if he knew about Tale of Two Wastelands, and you can hear what Josh had to say here:

at time stamp 9:45:20.

Needless to say, the team was ecstatic to hear that Josh knows about the project and that he thinks it's cool.

Thanks Obsidian, Bethesda and Josh for the awesomeness that is Fallout: New Vegas!

Fallout 4 is out now!

Get your copy here on Steam, or you can buy it elsewhere and activate through Steam.  Fallout 4 Nexus is online as well.  If you want to read some reviews, here is a list of Fallout 4 reviews (warning, some reviews contain plot spoilers).  If you're looking for how your video card will perform, see this video card comparison.  If you just want to chat about the game, head on over to our Fallout 4 discussion forum.

Is this the end of TTW?  No.

We will continue to work on TTW.  Understandably, development may slow down a bit in the near term while we all get our fill of Fallout 4.  That said, the team has been working on TTW for about four years, so the mod is very playable.  If you want a great experience playing Fallout 3 on a new PC, in the more modern game engine of Fallout New Vegas, look no further - get started on the TTW download page.

TTW Team's picture

TTW 2.9.4 has been released. This release is mostly bugfixes to deal with lingering issues in 2.9.3. Please see the changelog on the download page for more information.

I've updated the MCM script to have the proper delay, as well as separating out the parts that don't need to be in the main script.

TTW 2.9.3 Released

TTW Team's picture

Tale of Two Wastelands 2.9.3 has been released. This version brings with it some neat changes that we think you'll like which you can see in the change log. We had a somewhat rocky week as it was brought to our attention that some of the previous fixes since 2.8.1 were missing from the master files, but they should all be in place now. As usual you can get it here. Use this thread to talk about the changes as well as report any issues, and please remember the required information. Have Fun!

Was going to make a 'paid mod' joke but honestly that's probably played out, and you all should already know we'll never charge for TTW.

TTW 2.8.1 Released

TTW Team's picture

Tale Of Two Wastelands v2.8.1a has been released, and brings with it many exciting new bugfixes. Please use this thread to sing the praises of the talented people behind the scenes, or to document any issues you may encounter. We'd like to ask if you have any issues to include the required information for us to help. Enjoy, and as usual you can get it here.

This is a minor update over 2.8.0, but should be considered mandatory for game stability reasons. Please update asap.
