I heard that we won't be able

I heard that we won't be able to mod the new 3.0/3.1 ttw is that true? Even if it is its OK you guys are amazing. I play 2.9 perfectly except for the fact that in the capital wasteland I crash/freeze anywhere near Arlington library and Arlington/metro consistently so I avoid going there unless there's a fix that I need that I should know I'd be happy.

Nonsense, you'll be able to mod 3.x. Mods for 2.x will mostly likely not work however.

we are all going to have to

we are all going to have to rely on people who know how to mod (which defeiatly is not me) to convert those 2x to 3x. but looking froward to those conversions and possable new ones for ttw specifically!

It is balanced to the level 0

It is balanced to the level 0/1 tier it was in Fallout 3, it's more powerful than it was in F3, but not as powerful (op) as the .308 hunting rifle is. They also have a different appearance, and craftable .32 ammo variants were added.

Nice to know, thanks! I almost thought it would become the DC varmint rifle considering that it uses the .32 ammo, but I guess super mutants wouldn't be as intimidating if most of them were walking around with plinkers :P (on the other hand, the .308 rifle mutants in 2.9 was a nightmare to deal with if I remember correctly).

The .308 being so common was unbalancing things pretty heavily since it's quite rare in NV. Granted it was hard to find ammo for it, but that was better used in the Sniper Rifle. I chose to put it back and take the role it was originally designed for.

I know the release of v3

I know the release of v3 might be a ways off, but would you guys say that there is enough time from now to v3 release for me to start a new playthrough of TTW? I ask because I really want to play TTW, but haven't in awhile due to the me being afraid of getting like halfway through TTW and then the next update comes out and I've to restart.

I've been doing other stuff. However I have been fixing *all* the weapon issues and problems with their animations. I stopped logging what I was doing because it was just too much to itemize.

There's a couple glaringly broken animations in New Vegas. The first is moving forward with a broken leg, as your character doesn't make any footsteps. The second is moving to the right with a rifle in hand, and it has the same issue.

Are there tools you use that can add the sound triggers to specific frames in the animations? Don't recall there being functionality in Nifskope for that.

The moving forward while crippled animation has been fixed (although not for the weapon work). MadAce fixed it.

Moving right with a rifle? Crippled or not?

Animation work should be done in 3ds Max or Blender, if you use nifskope to do work like that you are absolutely insane.

Moving right with a rifle, while not crippled, doesn't play any footsteps. Moving left is fine, oddly enough.

So we add sound data to animations through the Nifskope plugin? Neat. Would you happen to know the best one for 3DS Max? Or even modern Blender, but the old guides kicking around only use Blender 2.49, the version before the devs made the interface actually workable.

I would assume they'd be left alone. I believe Roy has stated they'd keep things like that vanilla. I'm also certain there's at least one mod out there somewhere that changes them. That kind of mod should be easily converted with the script, as well.

I can't remember what the team decided to do about those perks in vanilla TTW, to be honest. But the talk was many years ago and back then there was more pressing matters to attend to.

Dang, so much for making useless perks becoming useful. More perks to avoid getting then. 

Side note: That also means project nevada compatability won't work, but to me, not a huge loss.

I sure hope for all of those who claim to "Wait for the 3.0" release from the git go.. didn't wait!  That'd be an awful gawd amount of time waiting!  LoL Ever since around the time "Requiem"  (sp?) came out..  TTW has been evolving!  Checking Dev Logs and commentations regarding specific questions and the new version..  Keep playing v2.9.4b!!  The new 3.0 seems to be very worth the wait!  They're not making a quick update that is highly buggy..  We all want the quality being put into it.. let the bugs get worked before we have to deal with them on the user end.. so far, the work put into it has been overwhelmingly immaculate.  Kudos!
