TTW Realistic Wasteland Lighting Enhancement v0.99 BETA 27-1-2017

Version v0.99 BETA 29-1-2017

Hey guys, It's time for a new beta, v0.99. Been working on this for a while. Complete rebuild of RWLE with new weathers, features and completely fixing all performance issues present in v0.96

Please report any bugs, look out for bugs related to the sound system, swimming and interiors mostly. Also let me know if I missed any tin roof interiors for the rain sounds. When reporting issues, please re-test on a clean save with just RWLE and no other mods (Essentials like Darn, FOV Slider, MCM etc are fine)

Known bugs

  • Rain will be invisible over large bodies of water. This is due to an engine bug with multiple blending alphas next to each other. The best solution is to put up with it, otherwise rain would have to be severely degraded everywhere or water will be missing reflections completely (Can't fix)
  • Player height detection when in water needs to be adjusted for each worldspace, currently meshes might disable when just waddling in shallow water in some areas (WIP)
  • Weird skin shader bug, character appears darker (Should be fixed in upcoming hotfix)
  • Overcast 2 has weird blue clouds at sunset (Should be fixed in upcoming  hotfix)
  • Darkest night variation has light pop in (Should be fixed in upcoming hotfix)
  • Weather has sudden transitions (Fixed in next version)
  • Area weather is buggy, switches instantly and gets stuck on (Fixed in next version)

Installation

  1. If you're using an old version of RWLE and plan on using the same save, please save and then uninstall in an interior in a weather without any status effect on your player (eg clear weather)
  2. Load the game once without any version of RWLE and save once more
  3. Ensure all previous assets are completely deleted
  4. Install v0.99, NVSE v5.0 b2 and JIP NVSE v33 or higher
  5. Use the patches below for v0.99, including someguys mods, Interior Lighting Overhaul, TTW RIL and DC Street. Also included in the patches is optional immersive interiors, which edits the tin shack meshes to reflect the outside weather (Note: All interiors with fake clouds removed that don't need mesh edits are included in main file)
  6. Download any hotfixes and overwrite the esp in the main download (if attached below)

Credits

Hectrol for dust storm texture replacement for hidden valley

discovery1 for new cloud textures

Weijiesen for new weather meshes and textures

Makron8 for rainup texture

Adoni7 and Ramccoid for interior mist texture

RoyBatty for script help, suggestions, testing, bug fixes

Camo, I'll assume that this

Camo, I'll assume that this is the next phase of the combined TTW Realistic Wasteland Lighting that Roy previously merged together here? https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-realistic-wasteland-lighting

I really liked the original that's for sure. Will there be a pick and choose for this one similar to the options available for the other? Darker Night adjustments, sun glare, ENB, ect?

@AnvilOfWar

@AnvilOfWar

It's a separate project, started out as me adding rain for personal use as I didn't have permissions at the time.

Yeah it will have all the optional things, currently it has darker nights and reduced sunlight merged in as it's what I use myself.

Awesome, thank you for the reply. I also use that exact version of the original, when I get around for a new character and rebuild I be sure to give this one a try. Best of luck with it.

xCamo - Is this something you

xCamo - Is this something you can optimize because I know RWL was made to be both good for lighting and easy on the CPU.  I would love to have something between Traditional RWL and the other high quality but intensive CPU weather mods we all know and some of us love.

It's probably the soundfiles,

It's probably the sounds, they need optimizing and overload the sound engine. Thunderstorm for example has multiple thunder sounds plus heavy rain running on loop along with the heavy wind. It's pretty demanding.

I'll do it in the next few days or so, high on my priority. Just got to find the best balance between quality and performance.

Camo! Started a playthough

Camo! Started a playthough using the new weather enhanced version. I am very impressed with what i have seen so far. Rain in the CW's, and Fog so far. Took me a short bit to figure out what I was doing wrong about the nights, since stock they where quite bright compared to just TTWRWL I was using. Finally saw the options folder in the file and sorted out a new fomod for the install even tired that new sun you had in the options. Very pretty.

This is a great mod Camo, I

This is a great mod Camo, I've always preferred RWL over the other weather mods on the Nexus, and this just further solidifies that opinion.

Great work, haven't encountered any problems in 8 hours of play so far. Thanks for creating and sharing this with us, I look forward to future updates!

So even more awesome I have seen now. Finally caught some Fog in a more urban area, and let me tell you the creepy factor skyrocketed! Fallout or Silent Hill, i'll let the picture do the talking! Camo, I can't wait for anything new from this, the mods great.

I've noticed that the Harsh Weather Status Effect stays with me when I enter buildings. Not sure if that's intended or not, but it does seem a little off.

That's this mod right? http:/

That's this mod right? http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/52037/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2F...

I was waiting for some news about it, I will be giving this a run. Wish me luck!

I'll start a new TTW game and give it a run through. One of the things that always bugged me was how sometimes (not always) the rain kind of put a dent on the fps. I know that that's one of the things you were trying to fix up. Also maybe it's me but it always felt that it rained too much. Although I think I could say that for all mods that do this.

I'll give it a shot and let you know.

New hotfix out, make sure you

New hotfix out, make sure you download the main file and then overwrite with the hotfix esp

Let me know if I broke anything, also when reporting bugs please re-test on a clean save and with no mods except for RWLE (Essentials like Darn, FOV Slider, MCM etc are fine) Thanks

  • Fixed light pop in for darkest night variation
  • Fixed weird skin shades outdoors
  • Fixed wait menu being disabled outside of sandstorms and radstorm weathers
  • Fixed weathers not being refreshed correctly on first load, when you first load a save it should refresh the weather saved in it now
  • Added WIP player height values in each worldspace for detection of player swimming
  • Added 50% chance of rattlesnake sound from 10-2 in clear weathers in Mojave
  • Added morning and evening cicada court calls
  • Added interior mist texture replacement, as seen in HD Mist by Adoni and Ramccoid to compliment the fog replacement
  • Implemented radstorms being forced in search light region (Test)
  • Removed some dirty edits to imagespaces
  • Removed DOF from dialogue

The radstorms from

The radstorms from Searchlight seem to follow me around the mojave and last until I go to an "outdoors" cell like the strip or freeside. They also don't seem to end if I wait indoors or sleep. I can't wait outside due to health damage and fast travel is disabled for the same reason. I already had the hotfix installed but I will install it again for testing and post my results. Load order: http://pastebin.com/ZGX8Uk9T (twane.esp is merge patch, fyi)

Already fixed in next version

Already fixed in next version, switched to scripted method instead of using region weather overrides.

Fast travel and waiting stuff is from radiation damage, the rad storms won't be stuck on in next version. However fast travel will still be disabled as intended during rad and sand storms

Everything looks awesome, so far. How long is the weather set to last, though, and can the lengths be modified? I can't find any settings options?
