I'll see what I can do about adding a field to the bugtracker for the version of TTW...

Ok, that was easy.  You can select "TTW v1.4a" or "TTW v2.0a".  Let me know if you want to change or add any more versions, or other categories (NPCs, Quests etc in the "categories" list) in the bug tracker...

You can see the selector here:

This may be a dumb question,

This may be a dumb question, but will these fixes be incorporated into the next version, or will we just be using .esp fixes?

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

There is a pretty weird bug

There is a pretty weird bug with the door to Eulogy's pad in v2.0a... micro door is the real activator.

The other thing I noticed is that I'm getting some sudden weather changes from a blue color cast to a yellow color cast.  Haven't isolated the time of day or specific weather types, but the change is very sudden, almost like typing in the weather codes.  Running no mods, clean install.

That door reminds me of Alice

That door reminds me of Alice in wonderland, slavers version. Well I am off to restart 2.0 this time from the Capital Wasteland.

@ Jax

By the way, just noticed that in the load order it says "MerchantPack" and it's supposed to say "MercenaryPack" not really important since this is the team only instructions and we all know what it means but if you're planning on copy pasting it when it's public released then you should fix it.

I might be missing a note

I might be missing a note somewhere, but I can't find the train station from New Vegas to DC.

I started a new game in NV and am in the area where the train station was before as mentioned in the link:

http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/content/i-am-dc-how-do-i-go-nv-and-ho...

Let me know if I have overlooked something.  Also, the only issue I have come across in NV is the eyes are missing from the Viper Gang Leader (female).

If that guide can't get you

If that guide can't get you there then something is wrong. In your TTW install folder there should be a TTW install log, upload it so I can verify your install.

Outstanding!

Outstanding!
I started with a clean install of NV, FO3 and just the installer. I usually put the installer in a dir off the C drive and another dir for the destination of the patched files. Then copy the patched files to FNV data. On my modest computer, it took 3 hours to build the BSA's and stuff, but it ran without a hitch (vista x64). Launched the game and made it out of Vault 101 with no problems.

Well I just started in NV and coc to freeside, went to check on the station and it is still there . Also I know that the guide I made for the NV side of the game is a bit confusing, but I was having a bad day and so I didn't had much patience to make it better, was tired of people asking where to find the station in NV side so I just put it up fast, I even made the stupid mistake of putting the longer way to reach the station before I put the shorter one, but couldn't be bothered to fix it after.

So my opinion is likely probably a load order problem.

This is probably going to come off as a stupid question but am I supposed ot use the TTW_patcher_1.exe after the other patcher or instead of it?

I deactivated all my FNV mods and am ready to install HEAVEN!

Regarding the Super Mutant I much prefer DT as opposed to just silly amounts of health.  Could you just make a small esp file that makes all SM the same across the board.

Curious if others have

Curious if others have received the same:

I receive this error using the 221 installer after clicking 'install;' I guess what I'd like to ask is 1) what exactly the installer is doing, what files is it targeting and 2) if there is a difference between requiring a 'clean install' and making sure the versions of the two games are just up to date.

I'm running XP service pack 3 with 2012 redistributable c++ (courtesy of Jax, thanks!) and - of course - have both games patched to the latest versions and everything else in order. Was able to run version 1.4a just fine after extracting everything manually and am wondering if we can do something similar for 2.0 in order to work around using this installer which seems opaque to me.

I understand the rational for using this language 'requiring a clean install' to make sure most people don't run into issues, but I guess I'm curious to find a workaround and to better understand the installation process so that I can figure out what I need to do to get things to work with my present configuration. So what's actually required? What does having a clean install do that having the latest patches for both games does not?

Your version of TaleOfTwoWastelands - Main.bsa cannot be patched.
TaleOfTwoWastelands - Main.bsa could not be found in F:\Valve\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\
TaleOfTwoWastelands - Main.bsa failed to patch properly...
Done

It continued on and everything else seemed to go without a hitch.  This happened the first time but that was with my previous install and I had just removed my mods.  I uninstalled FNV and deleted the entire folder and reinstalled it and the same thing occured.

When I started the game up it froze at the guy in the Riot Gear with the revolver and I didn't get a menu.

Also, it only took me between 15-20 minutes.  I have seen other people posting over an hour, was something missed? I have a quad core though and it was using them all so that might be why.

This was with both a fresh install of FO3 and FNV where I only started the launcher to generate the ini files.  I used the ttw_patcher_1.exe

@TrickyVein

@TrickyVein

I am not sure if you removed the old TTW files first from your NV folder (you should). I run the installer from a separate directory on my harddisk (where he has full writing rights) in administration mode on Windows 7 and let him extract and convert the TTW files that he produces also in a separate folder. So nothing of my NV & FO3 installation is touched by the installer and I get all the TTW files in a separate directory. With this method I see what the installer is producing and can them add later on manually to my NV installation with a simply copy or make a Fomod package.

@nathanj

I assume you have a similar problem and this method can help you.

I started it in from my desktop and had the TTW folders install to a folder on my desktop called "TTW Stuff"

I got the same pop up message again.   My games are located on a separate drive from my desktop which is on my C drive.  Would that be causing any problems.

I ran it all three times as administrator mode although I have UAC off anyways and my profile is administrator anyways.

The error message "Your version of TaleOfTwoWastelands - Main.bsa cannot be patched.
TaleOfTwoWastelands - Main.bsa could not be found in F:\Valve\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\" shows that the installer is looking in your FO3 main directory for his own files. So I assume something is wrong with your settings for a different install directory in the TTW installer.

I can't help here a lot it's

I can't help here a lot it's a installer thing.

Here is how I did the setup on my PC. The installer is started from C:\ttwinstaller212. I decompressed it there after download (avoided the desktop deliberaty). The install settings where:

Fallout 3 Location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\

Fallout NV Location:
c:\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\

Tale of Two Wastelands Location:
E:\ttw212\

Note: The Fallout 3 Location and Fallout NV Location was found automatically from the installer. Your paths can be differnt (depends what version of FO3 you have and where you installed the games).

I created E:\ttw212\ manually before I started the installer. I use a different drive here to save some time while the installer is copying files. After the installer was done I copied the files from E:\ttw212\ to my c:\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\ folder. Corrected load order, ....

If all this tips (also the ones mentioned earlier in this thread) don't bring a solution only jax can help any further.

Just to add to what seson

Just to add to what seson said:

Installed net framework 4.5 and the C++ 2012.

Checked windows update. 4 new updates there, installed them. Restart computer.

Installer: my F3/NV we picked up by default, made a new folder for the TTW files.

So, at this point, it shouldn't be looking in F3 folder for the TTW main bsa.

For those that have it working, where does the installer try and grab the TTW main bsa file from?

Hi all,

Hi all,

I'm confirming that I'm experiencing the same issue as tizerist. The installer does not detect any of the installed games (even though they are in the standard location, i.e. c:\...\steamapps\)

Edit: I'd love to help out with figuring out these issues. I'm a professional programmer so I'm eager to held debug the installer if the source code could be provided ;)

Tale of Two Wastelands was found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\

Extracting Fallout - Misc.bsa...

Then it says Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to contine. The system cannont find the file specified.

So apparently the net

So apparently the net framework 4.5 simply isn't supported by the windows xp OS. That seems awful unfair. Seriously, am I the only one left who still has XP running?

This would also explain the error message I am receiving.

Unless I'm missing something, it would seem that the installer requires the user to have a different OS than what is the required minimum for playing either game. This is unduly burdensome and as far as I can see, having played TTW 1.4a, unnecessary to a fault.

This is going to lose a large number of players if the ttw installer requires that you have windows 7 or higher running. Seeing as both games run on windows xp, I feel like the architecture of the installer should be made compatible.

Unsure where exactly to post

Unsure where exactly to post this, but here is an alternative mod to the TTW Courier Stash enabler menu: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/46251

Basically does what it says. Integrates the armors and weapons so that they can be found on NPCs. If the NPC usually wears metal or leather armor theres a possibility that the npc will wear the Courier's Stash variant. Same with weapons. I find it works well, at least in non-TTW FNV with the DLC integration mods (those are easy to find).

Vault 13 armored jumpsuit and canteen can only be bought at Vault 21. Mod author removed the tribal raider armor seeing as it was exactly the same as the blastmaster raider armor.

Also, it seems the mod author fixed some bugs with the armors and weapons.

10MM Pistol, Reinforced: "The Professional" and is now considered an "Improved Holdout Weapon".

Grenade Rifle, Lightweight: "Demolition Expert", "Grunt" and will also ignite gas traps on hit now.
Machete, Broad: Can now have poison applied and is added to the appropriate GRA challenges.
Caravan Shotgun, Sturdy: "Shotgun Surgeon"
Metal Armor, Lightweight: "In Shining Armor" and will no longer receive the benefits from "Travel Light" and "Light Touch" perks.

"Also the caravan shotgun has a script to fix the VATS critical bug that all shotguns have."

I will test this mod out to check out compatibility with TTW, but I'm assuming it should work fine, since its a NV mod. It does require NVSE though. If others can give feedback after using this mod, that would also be helpful to others. My apologies if I posted in the wrong forum. (Also, couldn't find the font size menu after the quotation so that's why its messed up XD)

hi

hi

if you are runing windows xp then you need to go to the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/247 and download BSAopt - beta 2 to ttwinstaller212\resources\BSAOpt XP and extract to folder for then rename BSAopt_x32.exe to BSAopt_x32.exe.old open the folder BSAopt - beta 2 - risky-247-2-0-0b2 and rename BSAopt x32 (XP).exe to BSAopt_x32.exe and copy to ttwinstaller212\resources\BSAOpt XP

There are two folders

There are two folders contained in 'TTW\resources\' called 'BSA Opt' and 'BSA Opt XP.'

The installer gives you the option to check 'use xp tools' before installing. I assume this means the installer uses the 'BSAOpt x32' in the 'BSA Opt XP' folder instead of the same in the 'BSA Opt folder.'

The installer doesn't recognize any other version of the 'BSAOpt x32' executable in either folder whether I select 'use xp tools' or not. Unless I'm not being thorough enough in my understanding of your post?

My TaleofTwoWastelands -

My TaleofTwoWastelands - Sounds.bsa fails to patch properly. I've run the installer a couple times now and I get the same error. When I play the game anyway after the install, the only sound I have at the beginning is the baby crying.

*Edit* Think it may have actually been a disk space issue. Trying to install on a separate HDD with more space to see if that works.

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the community. Well done to the TTW team, you've done an awesome work.

I've just installed the new version 2.1a of TTW, can I play with a save that have been made without TTW or I must begin a new game?
