Some female business suit in DC have the NCR pin

This isn't really a bug, but more of a change that in my opinion should be made.

Some female Business suits in DC have the little NCR pin on them which makes no sense in the capital wasteland, so I ask it to be "fixed" by restoring the FO3 model of the suit for the DC side of the things. It seems like its only the Dirty Pre-war Business Suit that has that little NCR pin on the lapel.

The suit changed drastically

The suit changed drastically from FO3 to FNV. In FO3 it was grey, pinstriped and quite dirty; in FNV it's solid blue, has the pin and is fairly clean. Simply restoring the FO3 version would be very obvious and possibly jarring. The male version of the suit remains gray and pinstriped in both games.

I have two options:

Create a new "NCR Business Suit" that is deep blue and has a pin for both males and females, and give it to Mojave business people (the crimson caravan woman springs to mind). Then change the "Dirty Pre-War Business Suit" back to being grey and striped for both genders. To me this is the ideal solution but changes NV, albeit minorly.

The other option is to edit out the NCR pin on the female dirty prewar business wear. This is quick and easy and has no real drawbacks except that it means that the same suit of clothing magically changes color depending on the gender of its wearer. And that bothers me. But only a little.

Hmmm I am also in the same

Hmmm I am also in the same boat as to not change NV stuff just for little things hmmm *thinking* how about making every female in DC use the grimy version instead, IIRC only a couple of them uses it in DC mmm Tenpenny Tower and I think one of the female npc in the cannibal town and I don't really remember anyone else.

I would say that's a good

I would say that's a good idea Jax, as one could find the suit with the NCR pin in untouched pre-war locations which makes 0 sense.

Sorry Jax, I meant edit out the pin... most of the people who wear the suit in New Vegas aren't part of the NCR... Oh Bethesda

Ok I researched this a bit

Ok I researched this a bit more and apparently the blue female suit with the NCR pin is a FNV vanilla bug.

The game is using the wrong texture, the texture used is actually the female version of President Kimball's suit which is the same blue, clean and has the NCR pin (you can check this by opening the geck and checking "OutfitKimballSuit" and look at the female version), the dark versions of the business suit has the correct texture (and without the pin). So the fix for this is actually change the texture back to the same as in FO3, but that would be TTW fixing a vanilla FNV bug.

I just checked the wiki and it is listed as a vanilla FNV bug there too:

Did digging. It's not a case

Did digging. It's not a case of the GECK pointing to the wrong file, but it's the right file path with the wrong file in it. This is going to have to be solved by the installer yanking the Fallout 3 suit out of the assets.

My solution is to restore the

My solution is to restore the original grey one to Fallout3.esm, add DC to the editor ID and then change any references to it in Fallout3 and DLCs to that version. I'll change the path to the same system with DC at the end of the path name. This way it will not affect NV at all and still be appropriate for DC.
