Hiya,

Hiya,

this mod is awesome and I'm using it right away. In fact I registered here, because of this specific mod.

I want to offer you my help if you want it. I don't have any modding and hardly any modelling experience but I am pretty experienced with 2D art and I'd like to offer my services - I could create Spy vs Spy covers, "burn" the covers of the burned books and maybe even make high definition recreations of the Grognak covers. Conan is cool and all but... I kinda miss Grognak!

As long as "better" is possible, "good" just isn't good enough!

Thank you for enjoying this

Thank you for enjoying this mod Manostion, this makes me happy .

But the work on this mod is on stand-by at the moment (I haven't even got the time to make a version that is compatible with the Magazines Reworked mod yet).

I am not a real modder and I have a very busy RL at the moment, I even have almost no time to be around here, i usually just appear now once I wake up and before I go to sleep just to check new posts.

Also since I have around 200 actual books already made and included in the mod, already made 10 magazine versions for each skill magazine and already retextured all of the skillbooks, I think if I ever work on this project again it will be to make some of the other features I wanted to implement like:

  • Perk books.
  • Unique books (kinda like collectible books, only one of that kind in the whole game) in specific places of the wastes.
  • Make my Wild Wasteland book related encounters.

PS: Grognak is still there, I didn't removed it (The Savage Sword of Conan are replacements of the Tæles of Chivalrie magazine and not of the Grognak the Barbarian Skillbook).

PPS: I have no problem with anyone that wants to make any mod or patch or anything else using this project as a base or idea, if you feel like learning some modding and want to make your own patch or entire new mod based on this one, please go ahead and do it . I love seeing people making new stuff, I just really don't have any time at the moment .

*makes a texture replacer mod

*makes a texture replacer mod, claims not a real modder*

*checks internet for most popular mods, all of them are texture/model replacement mods*

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Hey Rise, this mod is great,

Hey Rise, this mod is great, thanks to you and all others involved in it's making.

I have a small problem though with the books that it modifies, they seem to be piling up quite substantially... is this normal? Any thoughts?

Also inside risesbooks.esp - all worldspace edits are ITMs - are they necessary/safe to delete?

You have a script in there that is also ITM [00162B37 WWOwenBeruSoundScript] - is that safe to delete?

Cheers mate :D

Sorry I didn't have internet all day yesterday -_-' so I could only come by today.

Like Roy said it is safe to delete the ITMs, i must have forgotten to clean that version of the mod , you can also delete the script, I thought i had removed it last version (I was testing Wild Wasteland stuff so I could make a few WW encounters on my mod).

I think these issues were caused because I accidentally overwrote my mod and had to go back to a backup version I had that was older and I had to remake a lot of stuff from scratch and I also got frustrated so I forgot to check if it still contained some old stuff I had already cleaned in the later versions.

About the piling up books, I have no idea I didn't noticed in my testing but I never test my own stuff enough... I only use different textures, the meshes are still the same as the original books... Hmm might be the script that replaces the original books for the new that might do it, but I can't check since I suck with scripts (fun fact: apparently my Discalculia affects me the same with scripting and programming, and that makes no sense since it was supposed to affect only my mathematical skills ) and I didn't make those in my game...

No worries man, it's really

No worries man, it's really not that much of a problem, just thought I'd let you know in the thread in case others have the same problem. Maybe some super-scripter might come along and have a look at it? Stranger things have happened. I'm no good at that stuff either unfortunately :/

Heck it might be a prblem solely on my end due to certain mods, certain load order. We all know how finicky Gamebryo is.

Edit: Multiple books stopped happening after changing MCM menu options [no luck based changing and no quality changing]. Still get the awesome random covers :D

Hi Risewild, I wondered if you might know about the timeframe for the MR version? I know, I'm a right pain in the neck...

Thanks buddy!

No estimated time, I can't

No estimated time, I can't mod or even test TTW for the moment and probably won't be for a long time.

My computer is busted and I have no money to fix or replace it at all.

That is also why I haven't been around here much either.

Sorry about that, but it is really out of my control .

I like this mod as it gives

I like this mod as it gives some very needed change in the pre war books that can be found.

Unfortunately I noticed something that could be considered a bug. The Scribe in Arlington Library only takes the books that are specified in the PWbook1.dds and the PWbooks2.dds. If you have any of the pre war books that are specified in the PWbook3 and higher dds files she will not see it as a valid pre war book. I think the vanilla quest specifically looks for books mentioned in the PWbook1 and PWbook2.dds files as I did a test by renaming the PWbooks3.dds file to PWbooks1.dds file and vice versa after which she accepts the books mentioned in the PWbooks1 (what is the PWbooks3.dds) file. It might also be a problem with the scripting in this mod itself. I checked the esp file itself but could not found any valid reason for this to happen.

Update: after about an hour of searching I found out that the checks are done in a dialogue topic. Unfortunately the embedded script used in the topic has been altered by TalesofTwoWastelands.esm. This script has to be altered to make all the pre-war books supplied by this mod acceptable to scribe Yearling. I tried adding the global script references and created a condition to one of the books this mod provides however it does not work.

The only thing I can think of is the embedded script...
