No First-Person Visible Body

Well, it seems we are once again a floating point of awareness in Fallout 4 whilst in first-person view. Unless I missed something, all the body shots were from a (sometimes close, in dialog) external camera. I didn't notice any visible body from the first-person shots, and while the main character was walking through the house right after chargen, the walking seemed totally smooth. Plus, when the dog(meat) handed the wrench to the character at the gas station after retrieving it, the wrench simply disappeared into inventory from his mouth (no reaching hand, in other words).

This rather disappoints me, I have to admit. I never play without an Enhanced Camera mod for a visible me any more, don't know about you guys, but I think that's an evolutionary leap in the game's realism.

*Please* correct me if I'm wrong. :)

I wouldn't expect to be able

I wouldn't expect to be able to see your body in 1st person by default. Bethesda has never done that.

I don't see that as an argument, really. By that logic, they would never do new things because they haven't already done them first. They never did voices, either, or vanilla RTS or Enclave Commander or Weapon Mods until someone made a successful mod and showed the desire for these things first and then they incorporated it.

Yeah I had my hopes that they would have a visible body in first person, but I didn't actually expect it. Hopefully the Enhanced Camera guy will create another one for FO4.

I'm sure he/someone will.

I'm sure he/someone will. That's NVSE work, and it makes me wonder how Bethesda stand on assuming/including NVSE functions into their vanilla work. With mods, they can pretty much take what they want and re-engineer it (if they even need to do that) because aren't mods made with their assets and their tools usable by them in some form? Isn't that part of the whole modding agreement? How does this relate to the script extenders?

You're right, it's not.

But it does make your indignation rather misplaced. Seems silly to berate Bethesda for not doing something nobody would expect them to do.

I'm a user of Enhanced Camera and I love using it - if someone modifies the game in a similar way I'll undoubtedly use it.

First off, I'm not indignant. I don't know how you can take me saying that I am disappointed and change that into me saying that I am indignant, and then invent that I am somehow "berating" Bethesda. That's too much fanboism, really.

Maybe you should relax a bit and not try to be so defensive. I am merely talking about a modded aspect of the game that is very popular that they might have very easily included in vanilla but chose to not do, while citing other aspects of mods that they did in fact choose to include.

This is what we're here to talk about in this part of the forum after all. I find it inappropriate that you choose to behave this way.

I'm sorry that you feel you

I'm sorry that you feel you that way, but I still have to respectfully disagree with you. I'm not disappointed that Bethesdsa didn't give us a 1st person body in Fallout 4, and I think that it's silly that anyone would have expected it. Ergo, your disappointment is inappropriate since the expectation of having first-person visible bodies is not a reasonable one as based on a history of playing Bethesda's games. If you took offense at my being a little too loose with my language and implying that you were berating anyone, I apologize.

It's all good, then. I don't

It's all good, then. I don't have a problem with people having different opinions. Just trying to have a pleasant conversation with people.
