Courier, I do believe we need to get you up to date on modding and how it works (including things like how loose files work and proper zipping/compressing of files). Start with this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-3c1a9cLL8) and please continue on the series. Please do.

Okay. Besides my confusion of

Okay. Besides my confusion of this mod, are you criticizing my two mods in the New Vegas Nexus and my proposal in this link: https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/credits-and-new-menu-theme? I believe that a mod can exist in any form. It doesn't always have to be something related to GECK. Also, I'm not 100% tech savvy. I'm still a student learning computer coding, and everything is all new to me. In terms of GECK, I understand the code C++, not C#.

Now, regarding the NMC mod, I know how to do the ones for FO3 and FNV; but I never had to do one for TTW.

Courier, with all due respect

Courier, with all due respect, you're having trouble installing mods with very basic directions (summed up, this mod takes files from a nexus archive, combines F3 and NV versions, and, via a .bat file, cleans up unused files). You're also not giving us a) the direction you're taking and b) what your problem is. Finally, your "mods" are an edit of a text file (done in notepad) and swapping a music file around (copy/paste). Gopher's videos are meant to help you load mods with a sense of direction rather than just touching upon a few already existent files or flailing wildly and asking every single author for further instructions.

If you can't understand how

If you can't understand how to use simple batch files and follow basic instructions, I fear your endeavors into programming (which is logic, deductive reasoning, and creative problem solving) will be very very difficult for you if not impossible.

So I fixed the problem.

So I fixed the problem. Archive Invalidation was turned on by default but because lots of problems can be fixed by reset I turned it off and back on and now it's working. And RoyBatty, thanks for the idea that it could be caused by Archive Invalidation.

Haha, oh I'm not sure I've

Haha, oh I'm not sure I've done this correctly. Though this could just new tech that the NCR are working out the kinks on. I've also had bottles changing between a better looking sunset sarsparillla to what could be rusty corrugated iron to a blue/pink texture which I think is actually a normalmap being used as a texture. I've done borked it. For now, I've just turned off this so-called archive invalidation to restore the default textures and I'll try recompiling these texpacks together again when I've got an hour or two to burn.

Don't really know if this is

Don't really know if this is the right place to ask this, but it's been mentioned in relation to this, and I think you might know a bit about it Roy (I've seen you post about the issue in various places) - where does Camp Golf get its wallpaper textures from? I looked through the .nif but only found dlc04\dlc04mansionkit02.dds which doesn't appear to have them in it, just the damage overlays, and flicking through the textures folder hasn't got me anywhere. I'm trying to merge together the textures in the hope of fixing the enb transparent walls bug without disabling transparencyfix but, well, being unable to find one of the textures I need makes that quite hard to do.

e: Oh, right, alpha channels. Durrr. All good.

Hate to pop up on this again

Hate to pop up on this again but just a quick question.

Started a new game and boy that fixed an issue with NMC's pack I didn't even realize was there! Anyway, the pack is working 100% (in that it is definitely using the NMC textures) -but- it seems to be using the NV Dirt texture in the Capital Wasteland, so the dirt is pretty orange (except Megaton where it's the correct grey FO3 textures). I've followed the installation here 100% so just wondering if maybe I've missed something or if this is just an unavoidable thing ?

Before anyone asks I've completely followed the instructions, they were very easy to understand.

I know the default textures for the pack have a lot of red in them. Have you tried using the washed out wasteland pack? It's listed under optional files on the NMC page and takes most of the red out.

Yes, I use washed out

Yes, I use washed out wasteland and there is no red in the textures. It also has several other things that make it more friendly to Fallout 3. I think I included that in the guide along with the two bug fix packs. It's been a loooong time so my memory is a bit hazy on it.

As Arkngt said, yes, it affects both wastelands.

If you go through the screenshots posted by NMC on the Nexus page you can see some comparative shots. Personally I like the washed out wasteland textures in NV. As far as I know, using the washed out wasteland pack is the only way to get rid of the red in the DC wastes when using NMC textures since, again, as Arkngt said, both wastelands share a lot of the same resources.

I prefer the washed out

I prefer the washed out wasteland in both wastelands. Many things are shared yes, I chose to keep the rock skirts from F3 pack as they work in both wastelands for instance, where as the NV one looks out of place badly in DC. That was pretty much the only really badly clashing texture.

You may prefer the roads from DC pack too, some people do. He also has some higher res rock only packs for DC which you can also use if you choose.

The title shows that NMC was downloaded but in game none of the textures show. At least none of the Fallout 3 textures show(I haven't been to new vegas yet). Its all still Vanilla textures can someone help me. Im running windows 10 that might have something to do with it.

Fallout is cool I guess.

The files you can download

The file you can download from this thread is not a mod, it is an archive containing scripts to automate the creation of the texture pack and the file also contain the same instructions on how to create the pack as the first post.

It would be copyright

It would be copyright infringement, not stealing. While both are against the law, they are not remotely the same thing. Too many people have bought into the MPAA/RIAA propaganda about copyright infringement being stealing. They love to redefine terms to make things seem worse... ask anyone who's been a victim of REAL piracy if it's anything like having someone share a copy of your song online.

Not trying to make a big

Not trying to make a big argument, but I don't see how that can even be technically correct. Stealing requires taking something away from someone else so that they no longer have it. The only way that could be technically correct would be for him to sneak into the guy's home and erase his harddrive. Perhaps not even then if he has a backup somewhere that was missed. That's why there are different laws for stealing vs making an unauthorize duplicate.

Being using these textures for a two days now and they look and work great. Only problem is I've had a dramatic  hit on FPS. I am going to try the Large = Medium combo instead of the Maximum = Large to see if I can boost my FPS. I'm only getting between 12 to 20 now.

I know this is way late for a reply, however, hopefully this may still help anyone else who comes here with similar issues:  Most performance issues (when there are no in-game errors that adds to the performance loss) are hardware related.  To use HD Textures (1024, 2048,+), you ideally need a video card attached to your system that has similar memory (e.g. 1024 res textures = at least a 1 Gb memory video card; 2048 = 2 Gb memory video card; etc).  This is not mandatory, however, you will see much improvments after upgrading necessary hardware (cpu, memory, video are the 3 major upgrades that can be done).  For Windows 7 and up, I recommend a quad-core processor (which all cores can be used if you research ini edits regarding that - more aimed at FO3), No more than 8 Gb memory (Unless you're using your rig for more than just Windows and Gaming, 8 Gb is plenty regardless of which DDR used), and now-at-days, preferably a 3Gb or better video card (which will accomodate most games out there as well).

The hardware upgrades aren't mandatory, but with my recommendations or better, you will see improvements!  Of course, selecting a medium, small, or lite versions of the mod may help as well when upgrading hardware isn't an option.  If you truly spend a lot of time gaming on your rigs, hardware upgrades should always be considered when budgeting your finances.  I nickel and dimed my rig.  But now, am very grateful I did!  Skyrim, FO4, FNV (w or w/o TTW) all run smooth, even when conflicts arise (sometimes, depending on the conflict).

EDIT:  You can use lesser-memory video cards, but will suffer performance loss based on fact that the textures you loading (e.g. 2048 or 4096 textures on a 1 Gb memory video card) forces your rig to use your other resources (memory, HDD swap file) to try and accommodate what you're askng it to do.  Therefore, your rig suffers performance loss.  Even high-end rigs still suffer, but not as noticeable as is it on lower-end rigs.

I understand the "not quite

I understand the "not quite correct" part.  When I respond, there's never any pun intended.  When thinking and typing, I get goofy with details and don't always seem to pick the right wording for my choices.

I  guess...  All I was really aiming at, which I do believe we may agree on, is by using newer hardware choices suited for gaming or higher quality will greatly improve any gameplay.  And it has been in reference to what I've done and have noticed along with my skill sets.  In a nutshell, I've always gamed.  I've always ran into issues once I began modding my games.  When researching/troubleshooting problems, 90+% was resolved by forums such as Nexus and TTW with the same help as there is now.  BUT.. any time I added more memory, upgraded my cpu, video, etc.. things do improve with noticeable results.  The better you can afford, the more options become available or shows greater improvements (e.g. 32 bit processor vs 64 bit processor, dual core vs quad core, etc).

That all it was meant to be, not a total solution.  But, rather, possible solutions depending on hardware.  My rig now plays the exact same copy of my FO3 (GFWL - GOTY) much smoother than let's say my rig used when I first bought it.  Lastly, I don't know if it works for everyone's systems, but I do force 4 cores in my ini settings with my quad core and I did see another noticeable change for the better.

This is why I usually remain quiet.  PTSD and trying to mod the game at times.. let's just say I buy a lot of hardware!! lol  You guys dig into all the details, details.  Sometimes I'm researching and see unanswered questions and not sure what to think.  If problems still exists, or?  So I attempt to do what I can on some such as LO's or answered threads due to the fact that answers already exists, etc.  You'd be surprised at how many hours I put into my modding, using tools, GECK, ini tweaks, gawd, you name it.  I've been working on my current TTW install since last Xmas and still haven't started an actual game yet.  Still modding.  Not for the first time though, lol.

I have been having issues

I have been having issues when trying to do this. I downloaded the files, combined all the FNV textures and ran the correct .bats. But when I dragged the textures and meshes folders from the FNV folder into the FO3 folder, it asked me to overwrite over 1000 files. I still did it because that's what it says to do here. When I tried to activate the fomod it said that I did not have space on my disk. Instead I just dragged the textures and meshes from the combined FO3 & FNV folder straight into my directory. This did not work and I am getting FNV ground textures in DC. Do I have to compress it into a fomod? Any thing else that might help?

Edit: I freed up some space on my computer and installed the fomod but I'm still having the same issue. I'm probably just an idiot and screwed something up while making the texture pack.

The ground textures for both

The ground textures for both games in vanilla are exactly the same. NMC made different textures for each game, the washed out wasteland ones look fine for both games which is why I recommend it. I also prefer his Fallout 3 road textures and the generic manhole cover myself. You can selectively overwrite files if you wish, it's easy to find them in the folders. Also you can make a small pack of the landscape textures from the fallout 3 pack if you wish and enable/disable them when you switch wastelands if you want his from Fallout 3.
