Moira Brown - Craterside Enterprises 2.0

Here's a conversion of the Moira Brown - Craterside Enterprises mod, as requested.  I just ran it through the TTW conversion script for FNVEdit, cleaned up the scripts, and changed some of the overwrites to fall in line with TTW rather than the original FO3 stuff.  I'm having fun with it so I thought I'd share.

I do have grigoriprime's permission to post this.

 

As always, download the original ESM version, linked above.  

Delete the old ESM and drop the ESM from this post in.

Almost CERTAINLY NOT SAFE for existing saves with the old version.

I can't hire J.R.

when I say i need to talk to him, he says "What? Me? Why?" and then the dialog exits as if I said i had to go.

Edit: I reloaded a save before i finished the survival guide quest, finished it, and hired J.R. first, and it worked fine, and then went to hire the girl, and now she's having that problem. it must be a problem with hiring the 500 cap one.

It's not. I hired both of them with no problems. You either dont have the caps or it's a Mod conflict or load order issue.

Are there any textures/meshes

Are there any textures/meshes necessary for Moira? Using this mod, her outfit always comes up as corrupted...starting black and constantly changing colors. Any idea what I might be missing?

 

Edit: Derp...I have to download the original mod, you just replace the .esp

Tonight or tomorrow I need to

Tonight or tomorrow I need to post a patch to this mod that drops all the DR and converts it to DT. There are some weapon ammo fixes and some food changes I need to make as well in order to add HC and bring everything in line with FNV/TTW.

 

EDIT: If anyone that uses this and/or the Antagonizer companion mod wants to post the portrait and accompanying data for JiP CCC that would be AWESOME. I don't have the image manipulation software installed at present.

Oh, I completely spaced on it.  Got wrapped up trying to get that last update for the PPA ready for posting.  I'll make this a priority tomorrow.  Depending on how much work it is to add the hardcore stuff it shouldn't take too long.  There are only a few piece of fresh produce and then the booze I need to make sure falls in line with FNV perks and all that.

I don't know? I didn't know that was an issue?  As a Vendor AND your companiion she will sell anything in her inventory, plus whatever is in her vendor crates. If she's selling something you give her that's not technically a problem. Otherwise I'd need more info.

There was an option to buy items from her when she's with you and one of the items was shotgun shells. I might have to take a picture to be able to explain it better.

It's entirely possible she'd have shotgun shells to sell. Depends on what mods you have loaded and what they put in her vendor crate.  A picture wouldn't hurt but it doesn't sound too weird.

I'm not getting audio using

I'm not getting audio using the new version. All of the new lines are silent.I have downloaded the original, and notice the audio files are in a folder called MoriaCompanion.esp. Since you've made it an esm now, is that what's causing the issue?

Oh wow, that's a thing that hadn't occurred to me.  There's a tiny edit I just made for the sound but it will also require you to change the sound\fx\MoiraCompanion.esp\ folder to sound\fx\MoiraCompanion.esm\

Thanks for the conversion! Just went back to DC to pick up Moira, then back to Mojave. Introduced her to ED-E and then took her to Old World Blues. Highly fitting!

I haven't gotten that far yet in the mod to test it. I'll do some digging and see if I can see anything that might cause problems.

FYI, one word of warning on

FYI, one word of warning on installing this mod.

Finally got this to work and Moira is now a companion. Great Mod. Lots of interaction. Working just fine with JIPCCC. :)

Took a while to get it working. I could not complete the quests to hire employees for Crater Side Supply so Moira never became a companion. I could hire them, but when I went back to tell Moira, it never gave me a conversation option to let her know it was done. I even completed the quest via console and still never got the notification. So she wouldn't leave the shop.

The problem seems to be conflict with Panzer. At least once I removed Panzer, I could complete the Hire Employees quest and she became my companion once I returned to her an told her.

So no Panzer for me at least until I complete the active part of this mod. :(

Always bring a companion or two that is slower than you.
Because you don't need to out run a Deathclaw.
You just need to out run your companions (Just bring a lot of companions in case the Deathclaw is really hungry!).

You might be able to juggle load order if it's a direct edit that's causing something weird. I keep meaning to get Panzer but it seems like something you want from the start but I get so little time to play my runs take a while.

OK, I finally had enough time to play through to the point where I could adopt her and there was no problem.  Well, I say no problem but it did take me 45 minutes of running around LL to find her but once I did it was just ask her and she said sure and her room popped up in Megaton just like that.  Not sure what was causing your issue. 

I'd have to see some sort of load order.

Just FYI, more Moira weirdness, but the mod is still working and a lot of fun otherwise.

As long as Moira is an active companion, I can not use the either the Wait (T key) or the Change View (F key).

But if I have her wait somewhere, then they work.

So if I want to wait a few hours for the caravans to show up or see how the new armor looks on my PC, I need to tell Moira, to wait, other wise hitting 'T' or 'F'' does nothing. BTW, using a bed to rest still works fine.

That has to be some sort of strange conflict with another mod. Is Moira the only companion this happens to you with?

Obviously I've used the mod and would have noticed not being able to wait or change view modes. In fact I was doing some testing on a mod last night that forced me to stand around waiting in 1 hour increments for long enough that I had to drink a case of aqua pura to fix my dehydration issues.

Post a mod list link from PasteBin and I'll see if I can find anything. Seems like it almost HAS to be a UI mod of some sort but we'll see.

Yes, Moira is the only one it happens with. I am running Ties that Bind before I added Craterside Supply, but I didn't have this problem with Amanda either before or after.  I've also tested it with Jericho and Dogmeat, both together and apart.

I have no idea.  I'm shocked that a new version came out.  I'll check it out and see.  Last time I talked to Grigori about the mod there was talk about some more dialog and some sort of companion wheel thing he wanted to tweak.  I'll let you know.

 

Edit: OK, It's a new version with tons of new features.  In all likelihood, if Grigori says it's cool for me to post a conversion of the new version, you would want to start a fresh save before loading it. It's definitely not something I'd feel comfortable with say you'd have no problems.

I'm going to convert it for myself right now. When I hear back from the author I'll post it or not.

2.0 Update and Bugfix Notes:

If you are updating from 1.0 and do not want to do a clean save or start a new game, use the .esp for now (unless you don't mind typing like 50 things in console). The esm is a way to make things like dlc/other mod plugins and patches easier and to be able to easily do minor updates as needed (2.0 adds a LOT of new stuff). Also cause a large number of the new NPCs would have head/body mismatch and I hate that.

The Craterside trespassing bug is fixed (mostly) and WILL be resolved on update after waiting a day or dismissing Moira however Craterside will now ALWAYS be unlocked (android mercs never sleep  ).

The "She won't follow right away" bug has been significantly reduced and she will now follow after a load door transition (or 2). This is also fixed on updating.

The "Penny won't talk to me" bug has been fixed and will resolve itself on update.

The main download also contains a second ReadMe with ONLY the new stuff (main ReadMe has everything mixed together).

NOTE:
Any currently existing TTW versions will NOT work with ANY 2.0 version.

Yeah, I don't imagine he'll have a problem. I just figure he's an active mod maker and it's only polite. 

 

Also, it's a great change of pace to be dealing with a mod thathas a mod maker that isn't COMPLETELY gone.

 

The conversion is done. Still need to test it but the changes do look REALLY neat :D

Just started a new TTW game

Just started a new TTW game with this mod. In the first chapter seem to be stuck in a loop with the radiation quest which I did 3rd. Each quest beforehand, when accepting would end in the the rad perk dialog without giving the perk. Attempting to get 600 rads would reset to 0 after getting the 200 and a message to go back to Moira. Used Console command to reach 600 for the optional, but then the dialog skipped the rad perk to end of chapter 1 dialog, and still did not grant the perk.

Disabled mod, made a clean save, and then no issue proceeding thru the quest and getting the perk. I downloaded and install on 5-10 the original assets (esm file) from the link above and used this esm. I have no other mods that affect Moira or Megaton.

Thought I would share. 

In process of starting Chapter 2, with reactivation of the mod.

You either didnt install the mod correctly or it was a mod conflict. The latter probably being the case since I had no issues with her quest.
