This patch is still working

This patch is still working great for me.

I do have a small question however, if I was going to start a brand new game which version of this should I use for greatest compatibility?

Is the fix only functional in the one that changes the form ID, even for starting a new game?

Is it likely or at least possible that using either the first or second file that makes the change from Quest Stages to NVSE User Defined Functions would prevent the issue from happening without breaking any mods that might not point to the new form ID?

Thank you guys so much for the fix. My load times in my current play-through dropped from 2:20 to 8.7 seconds. Now I can go back to being careless and dying all the time. :)

On the one hand, the load

On the one hand, the load times are absolutely fantastic again. Thanks, guys) This is absolutely beautiful.

On the other hand, ever since I got rid of 10-minute load times, the game has gone quite unstable.

Before that, armed with NVAC and a buffer purge mod (although apparently there is a better option those) I had suffered minimal crashes. If any.

Now the game freezes or crashes with no error message every 15-20 minutes. I'm quite at loss here.

Did I mess up somewhere? Did I skip an essential step?

I'll include my LO just in case.

MorePerks needs a patch,

MorePerks needs a patch, deadboy made one already but I don't think he put it up yet.

Busworld looks like the out of date version.

I have put 40 hours playtime

I have put 40 hours playtime into a new game with the hotfix and the load times are still as low as there where when leaving 101. Great work guys!

I can even use TTWOptions now without any issues. Without the hotfix it was amplifying the load times from the issue for me.

so with the new ESM .32 caliber ammo shows up.....

:Edit:

On the account of being uniformed about the issue with bash patch's and the need to add the relev and delev bash tags on to the TTW ESM to avoid .32 caliber bullets from showing back up into the leveled list

It makes a good difference

It makes a good difference for me as well, although I do not have extreme long load times like some who have posted here. The problem I had with it which caused me to revert is that the game would instantly crash to desktop when I clicked on the door of Moriarity's saloon.

My computer specs are too embarrassing to reveal, but the game still runs.

Hi, I just noticed that the

Hi, I just noticed that the NVSE check script is still using TTWFunction stage 255, is this a missing check or you left it like that on purpose?

I've modified the TTWNVSECheckerSCRIPT (the one that was still using SetStage TTWFunction 255) and apparently the game start is kinda faster (not much, but barely), and since You removed the entirely TTWFunction, I thought this check should be a separate NVSE function too.

I'm kinda new (just registered) and I'm barely learning to script, but I noticed that and wanted to ask.

Also, my english is not the best, so, apologies if I can't explain myself correctly.

Can't we just remove that now

Can't we just remove that now that NVSE is required?

Grib removed the NVSE check

Grib removed the NVSE check from TTWfunctions anyway. Having it there is redundant.

Awhile back I reported an intermittent problem with lucky 8-ball not working (at the time it appeared to be the latest version of TTWFixes).  Well I finally tried this long-load-time-fix.  Not only did it immediately and markedly improve my loading time for a 400+-hour load file, my Lucky 8-ball problem seems to have gone away.

Thanks!

This ESM does appear to have

This ESM does appear to have fixed my long load times. I'm using TTW v2.9.4a. I don't use Options at all. Initial game load was over 2 minutes, loading after death over 4. With this replacement ESM all of my load times dropped to about 6 seconds. How common is it for mods to use the TTW Functions quest? I want to get some idea how many of my mods will need an update for compatibility.

As a general rule, only mods

As a general rule, only mods that do things that involve some event taking place specifically in one wasteland or the other would need to have messed with it at all.

Hello everyone, new user here

Hello everyone, new user here...

Just getting started playing around with this TTW setup, and really liking what I see so far. However, I did notice something strange with this file which is probably not something that will affect most people, but since I am just loading and testing things out I was checking the different options and interactions and stumbled upon it.

When starting a new game, with this new replacer file in place, everything seems to work fine so long as I do not have the TTW_StartupMenu.esp optional file enabled. With that file enabled, I get a black screen with HUD elements, and nothing else, immediately after selecting yes to the new game option, rather than getting the selection menu for staring in NV or CW.

For now, I will just disable this replacer when staring a new game, and enable it again after that.

My current load order is very minimal since I am just getting started, but here is what I have:

Note that I have not actually made the bashed patch yet, it is just there from the initial setup, so it is not enabled.

Also, I have tried disabling everything below TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm except the TTW_StartupMenu.esp and had the same results.

Hope this information is helpful.

And thanks so much to everyone involved in this massive effort. I can only imagine how much time and effort you have all put into this so far.

Edited: But line breaks into my load order that didn't show up previously.

Are you using the TTW Startup

Are you using the TTW Startup Menu fix that RoyBatty made for use with the long load time fix?

No, no I wasn't.

Not sure how, but I completely missed that post.

Sorry about that, will be more vigilant in my future post searches.

Edit: Sure enough, applying that file fixed the issue. Thanks!

Hi all.

Hi all.

Found a temporary workaround, if long loading happens even with the patch (usually in combat or during an active phase of a quest, may be caused by some mods): quit to the Main Menu and only then reload your savegame.

Started a new install/game

Started a new install/game with the new ttw.esm posted here and getting 2 minute+ load times again :/

Is it one of the mods I've installed that still calls "SetStage TTWFunctions"  that is likely causing this?

[It is safe to start a brand new game with this new ttw.esm right?]

It was TTWOptions.esp [likely an old version, incompatible with newer ttw.esm] loading times now 5-10 seconds.

this thread helped me sort the issue

Does this file still help?

Does this file still help?

I've heard rumors, or misinterpreted a few comments, that this fix was integrated into TTW (Which consequently requires NVSE), and am concerned that installing this would cause more problems than it solves.

If this does help, would it be safe, or even possible, to swap out my current TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm for this one?

Yes, it was made to address that problem and it is not currently integrated into TTW.

Yes, it is safe and recommended to replace the old TTW esm.

Sorry, I should have been

Sorry, I should have been clearer in asking if it would be safe to swap it out and continue an existing save game.

Still, I'll certainly swap it out for my next playthrough, even if I can't for this one.

Just another little thing: do you think we could have a list of where to download the various compatibility patches for mods that had issues with this? I myself am mostly concerned about More Perks, but I still think it would be a good idea to have a list I can look through to see if any other mods I have need a patch.

So, I guess that More Perks doesn't need a hotfix anymore?

Or did I misinterpret yet another comment, and it actually never needed one in the first place, meaning only those three needed patching?

...I don't see More Perks in the list.

All I see are 'Difficult Journey', 'Startup Menu', and 'Improved Transportalponder'.

Is that not the list I'm meant to be looking at? I was kinda hoping for a list of mods that have patches, and links to download them. Or at least where to find them.

Since you already asked about

Since you already asked about the more perks patch, I assumed you already knew about it. That's the only other mod that needed a patch for the update as far as I know.

Most mods are not going to be making use of those TTW functions.

I know that the patch exists, I just don't know where to find it.

I looked through the threads of both conversions, but couldn't find a link to download the patch.

Unless it's here, and is the 'Patch for 2.94b of TTW' file?

I had always just assumed I

I had always just assumed I was going to crash if loading took longer than 10 seconds.  My load times are generally either a few seconds or longer than 5 mins (in which case I assume it's hung and just kill the process and reload).  I haven't noticed any significant difference in load times as I progress in the game though.  I have a mix of both fast and slow load times at level 1 and at level 50 with slow meaning I assumed the game is hung and killed the process (greater than 30 minute load times...)  Will have to give this a try sometime although from some of the comments it sounds like I'll need quite a few compatibility patches, not exactly clear on which types of mods would need one other than the ones specifically called out.

None do except the specific

None do except the specific TTW mods that use the functions that were patched.

No F3 or NV mods are affected.

If you use CASM, update it also to latest version as it had a different problem causing similar load times.

Nice update.  Have only been

Nice update.  Have only been playing with it today so far but zero cases of load times longer than 5 seconds so far and just as stable if not moreso than before.

(edit: I do still get long load times once in awhile but pretty much without exception if I check my task manager my Windows Defender antimalware process is freaking out.  I tried adding Fallout to my exceptions but it doesn't seem to matter.  I suspect the only way I can get around that problem is to completely disable Windows Defender while I'm playing but then I'll forget to turn it back on so I think I'll just assume Windows Defender is going to make my games crash sometimes due to the antimalware thing.)

Hey guys! Before I comment,

Hey guys! Before I comment, I've been using FO3, FNV, and TTW for years. I've been very greedy downloading mods without showing much gratitude, ever. I would like to thank ALL dedicated modders for their excellent work, big or small! NMC, FWE Team, TTW Team, EVE, etc. You all have made my game rock! I'm still adding/removing mods and playing the game! OK... Now about the topic at large. I'm currently reinstalling everything fresh for another TTW 2.9.4b playthrough! During installation, I install a few mods, fnvedit merge patches, and test that I can load the game and start a new game, quit and continue repeating that process. Just after I loaded the last of my fO3 content, menu wouldn't load. That's what brought me here! After messing with LO, I got it to load in approx 1 minute. After installing both files here and acquiring latest patches, THIS DOES WORK! 7 to 10 second load time. I still need to finish adding my FNV content. I can post again after if needed and verify my load times. Thanks!

EDIT:  Just to come back and confirm.. using MO, 4Gb recommended patch, TTW Fixes, and the long load time fixes along with 160 mods.. This totally reduced my load times!  Then I used the tweak to remove the intro video.. BAM!  Nearly an instant load for me!
