The Lone Courier - Fallout: Unity Dialog Enhancements 1.02

This was originally going to be part of my mod Fallout: Unity, but I figured it was best to separate it out for people who wanted the functionality I'm adding without this feature.

What I have done is taken the vast majority of Fallout 3's dialog and changed the players prompts to sound more like the Courier.  The difference in player tone in the two games was extremely jarring to me. So, I went through the game quest by quest and changed what I felt needed changing.  This doesn't make you sound like a hardened wastelander coming out of the vault - what it does do is change most of the dialog to neutral voice, which makes at least one of the dialog options sound like something you would conceivably say. See the attached screenshots for examples.

If you find any bugs with the dialog - typos, repeated lines, you didn't feel a particular line's tone worked - take a screenshot of the offending interaction and post your thoughts.

This changes none of the speech challenges, as that is a job TTW will eventually do itself.  I highly recommend http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/content/new-vegas-style-speech-checks-fallout-3-content as a companion to this.

CHANGELOG:

12/12/2013: Fixed typos in Take It Back! dialog with Autumn and The American Dream with Lyons.

12/07/2013: Fixes to dialog with Reilly and Eden. Also added screenshots.

Minor bug report: this adds

Minor bug report: this adds you to the New Vegas Brotherhood of Steel faction instead of the DC faction when talking to Elder Lyon after you wake up.

Are you thinking of Revelation UI? It makes it look like Fallout Tactics UI.

How do you get Revelation to

How do you get Revelation to work correctly when starting off in Vault 101?

"TTW is the Fallout version of The One Ring. The One Ring to rule them all."

"Si vis pacem, para bellum!"

I know, right?  I, personally

I know, right?  I, personally, really like Sarah Lyons.  She's no Veronica, but I thought she was pretty badass in-game.   Looking back, Fawkes is only compelling in the context in which he exists.  If you bring him along to the Mojave he's...flat and boring.

Anyway, yeah, this is awesome.  There's even a bit in the Pitt where you can tell Midea that the city is even worse than what the Legion did to Nipton, but only if you've actually seen that already.  It's a very cool nod I wouldn't have thought of.

Honestly, OP, I'm seriously impressed that you thought of doing the DLC out of order, across both wastelands, along with totally independent quest variables, and adding unique dialog for that.  There was even a fun, and very confusing, one where you can tell President Eden that the only country you've ever heard of is the NCR.  Might want to flag that as not available unless you actually traveled to Mojave and have a positive reputation with the NCR already.

Few ideas I'd love to see implemented (if they aren't already):

-Comments about both Calvert (Big Brain from Point Lookout) and the Old World Blues Brains, depending on which one you did first.

-Poking fun at Desmond's Wig if you've completed the Aqua Cura questline with Griffon, the other ghoul with a wig (why wasn't this in vanilla?)   Maybe something about a 'hair inferiority complex'

-When meeting Mr. House, a comment along the lines "Ok, be honest, are you a ZAX AI?  I'm asking because the last computer monitor recluse I met claimed he was the President of the United States and tried to make me commit genocide.  Long story short, he exploded, and then giant robot blew up the Enclave so [depending on ending choice] could start a water purifier." if you've met Eden.

-Other way around if you've met House already before meeting Eden.

-Resentful comments to how frustratingly different the Mojave Brotherhood is from the D.C. chapter.  Also, the reverse depending on which one's you meet first.  Commenting on that whole exploding collar thing to D.C.  Whew.

-Comments to the Enclave Remnants/Arcade in the Mojave if you sort of...already wiped them out in D.C.  Different comments depending on Liberty Prime's status/Mobile Base Crawler.

-Commenting on how Ashur "isn't nearly as bad as Caesar." because he, one, is trying to cure mutations, and two, doesn't classify women as a subspecies like that other dick.

-Suggesting, as a joke, enlisting the aid of "The Republic of Dave" to any of the four large faction options in the Mojave, provided that Dave is still the President and that you've completed the quest.

-Suggesting the assistance of the Regulators for the NCR/House/YesMan, or whoevertheotherguyswere for Legion/House/YesMan if you have the appropriate perks.  They turn you down, obviously.

-Upon meeting Neil/Marcus, provided you've already met and recruited Fawkes, the player can be super surprised that there are other intelligent super mutants, much to their dismay.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Thanks. To be fair, you've found a bug, so thank you. That Lyons dialog should have a Wild Wasteland tag.

Also, there's a line about one of the Think Tank when you're confronting Calvert - you're not guaranteed to get it depending on how you handle things.

When you encounter a problem with our forums or TTW please refer to our FAQ first, the answer might be already there and that will save you the time to have to wait for an answer .

Seems I might have a problem

Seems I might have a problem with installing the mod but when I tried talking to Doctor Li she seems to insist that I'm James' kid and there's no option for me to dismiss that claim, which is weird.

If I may add, there are some

If I may add, there are some spelling errors in this, even though this utility still works as of the latest version of TTW. I use it myself and I think it fits a Lone Wanderer who goes from East to West. If anyone can continue this, I don't think I'll be the only one thanking whomever does continue it.
