When the installer comes out,

When the installer comes out, will it be simple to upgrade from existing TTW install?

Just wondering if I should wait until it comes out or not to start a playthrough.

The next TTW version will have to be installed from scratch. It will be impossible to update from version 2.9.4b to 3.0+ without a new full installation.

The only updates we will give in the future, will be when it is done (and TTW 3.0+ will be released) or if something happens to stall or delay making the installer. So no news are good news.

Dont know how u have the patiance to get through all the bug busting. its enough to drive anyone to insanity! When the mod (i hate to call it that, as it feels like a entire new game) I'll donate as ive allready gotten 500+hrs from ttw and hopefully 500 more! Good luck :P

Up to you. It's been stated multiple times that TTW3 will require a fresh install, but you can always wait until the second coming if you want to keep up the experience with 2.9.

oy oy! seems like we've had

oy oy! seems like we've had some comedians out on the forums recently <3 but there r some good points.i just wish I had some grasp of the quest zilav is undertaking; I imagine it's like looking out accross a vast empty desert and being told to find water, then build new vegas around it.

In other news! I was thinking that after I finish my Alevels I would begin work on some mods to implement some plot and mechanics that make TTW and F:NC (& eventually the Fallout the frontier (if they haven't gone dark)) feel more like a single game, might not be 110% lore friendly, but if you can accept the courier and the vault dweller r 1 person then im sure you will be able to digest the story i go for. will make a thread to hear your ideas down the line :) god's speed zilav. god bless the tww team

Hello everyone, just had a

Hello everyone, just had a thought. I read on another thread that 3.0 will need some mods to be redone to allow ttw 3.0 to work with them. However when most changes happen, its ussally ones which are for fallout 3 and NV. NV mods are ussally ok. Is this the case here? as i play with new vegas bounties alot and some other new vegas only mods. Will these be ok with 3.0? or will these need updating when it evetually releases?

New Vegas mod's will be fine.The only one's that will need to be updated are one's that affect The Capital Wasteland or allow you to find certain items there with a patch like with PN.

Congrats on the BSA packager.

Congrats on the BSA packager. If I recall reading somewhere, there was functionality in the BSA tool that was only available in the version of it that shipped with Skyrim and up, that you really wanted/needed for the project. Correct me if I'm mistaken. Whatever the case may be, I'm always pleased when we get these progress reports from the team.

Yeah it's really good and will be available as a stand alone tool although it's command line only. It supports all flags and can report flags from vanilla/mod bsas too.

so feel free to tell me off if I'm asking too much but the BSA tool is done & the patcher is being worked on... is there anything else being worked on? or will anything else be worked on after the patcher is done? or will ttw be pretty much ready to go after the patcher is completed?

IIRC with the BSA packer ready, the only big problem left is the patcher. Once that's done, release. Damn zilav's a blessing to TTW.

Decided to hold off on

Decided to hold off on investing so much time into Modding TTW since the new version will need all new Conversions. I was wondering if there's a list with everything that's going to be added to 3.0 that's not a giant bug fix list of 60+ pages. I don't mind if you guys want to wait till it's released but having a simpler list of added mods to default TTW would be awesome. Also I've been shamelessly promoting your mod everywhere I can on the ease of installing once it's released so more people will want to pick up NV and 3. Even put it in a Steam review.

Also how will conversions be handled? Most of the old conversions will not be compatible with the new build is what I understand so far. So it's mostly a waiting game for original conversion authors to decide and take up the mantle again? Also will this new version increase NV mods compatibilities?

Bug fixes, polish some new content (not lots). Installer isn't necessarily "better" but easier for me to use and manage updates in a timely manner.

Conversions will be handled like others, zilav has updated the script to be faster and more flexible so I was able to create different .csv files to not only convert, but update, and also change some items to TTW specific ones etc.

Yes, the new version is more compatible with NV mods. However many mods will still not be compatible, specifcally ones that do not handle the pipboy adding/removal, child races, custom races and ones that delete needed records. Those kinds of things need to be supported in order to work with TTW properly, don't look to us to patch those things as it's not our responsibility to do so. TTW should be treated as it's own game by authors, and thus make mods or create patches specifically for it.

Mods that don't handle the pip-boy removal, child races, and the ones that delete records are a minority anyways, and explicitly incompatible with the FO3 parts (such as Tranquility Lane in the first two cases). Apart from the bug on the ending, what's the problem with custom races?. Don't use those, but I'm curious anyways.

FCO needs a lot more than a compatibility patch, it's needs full support of child races which it's likely never going to have and is on the list of mods that I'm probably go make not work so we don't have to deal with the problems of people not reading our FAQ. The list is rather short, but they are mods the recur over and over again that either are completely incompatible or outright break TTW.

Roy I'm not sure if this means anything because you probably know more than I do, but on the Step page for ttw, Fallout Character Overhaul is working just fine combined with new vegas redesigned 3 using what I believe was your own guide a couple years ago. Sorry if I'm wrong or misunderstood any of this.

You will using the same one as they're just texture files. 3.0 won't be changing any textures afaik.

My question myself, is Start Up Menu fix required for TTW if I'm using the Hotfix (which says it has all including a Startupmenu file inside it) on 2.9.4b?
