Clean Install

I don't mean to be a stickler, but it seems like a lot of people are having issues with mods/TTW because they haven't used a clean installation.

Maybe it's just me!

I know there are some rules to posting problems; the problem, load order, version of TTW, search for duplicates, disable any other mods. The community is growing, and more and more people are having small to large issues. I think it would be wise to make it mandatory to use a clean install when using TTW or at least before posting a problem. or maybe it already is and I'm just oblivious.

Like I said, that's just me. Thoughts?

I think you are right. For

I think you are right. For whatever reason, installs that have been modded, even if mods are disabled, seem to fail more often. Almost every problem can be fixed via load order or clean install.

Also/or no enabling mods

Also/or no enabling mods until the character has reached the Capital Wasteland. Seems like a few people have had issues with enabling 50 different mods, and then starting a new game.

I'm just seeing a pattern here with using old files, and mod overloads too soon.

I could be wrong! But it might thin out some of the repetitive problems and clean up some of the simple answer posts.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

I just ran through that same

I just ran through that same install problem.  Tired twice before doing a clean install on everything, works great since then (about 3 hours playing time).

This is my first mod, and I'm loving it.  F3 isn't very compatible with Win7

So, thank you for a great product and the advice to get it going properly.

I think it should be strongly

I think it should be strongly urged in as do-it-or-your-game-will-explode as possible that TTW be installed over clean versions of both games, and if you're planning on modding TTW (at least until we get out of alpha) you should have another clean install to test TTW with.

That's not bad tjmidnight420.

That's not bad tjmidnight420. I've done two play throughs so far and have only had one issue, but that was in New Vegas. if I remember correctly, they're working mostly on the DC Wasteland right now.

I have yet to have issues with any of the beginning vault quests. Then again, I don't install any mods until I'm out of the vault.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

Most of the guys on the team,

Most of the guys on the team, as well as my self, actually run multiple builds of TTW /NV /F03 because it makes it easier to bug test. Heavily modded TTW to play when I'm not working on it, which I usually am. Vanilla TTW to compare that to when you run across strange goings on. And the two vanilla games to find out if the bug you just found is vanilla or not, which is supposed to be mandatory before posting any bugs.

Here are my final thoughts. I

Here are my final thoughts. I know it's posted somewhere not to post duplicate, check load orders, verify version, and a pushing suggestion for a clean install would be nice.

It may be a bit dramatic, but I feel like the link to post a new topic on a bug should lead to the search function with a banner that says "FIRST SEARCH IF THIS HAS BEEN POSTED ALREADY" and then a "Bug not listed, let me post!" link.

I really don't want to be the bad guy, especially since I have no place to be and I enjoy getting to help people out, but I think these main steps should be stressed more. Even if it isn't a bug, people still have issues, and usually it's the same issue causing it; load order, mods enabled, old install. These are really simple, and to help clean up the board from repetitive posts, and let the modders work/help on more serious issues if any.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

I am new to using TTW and

I am new to using TTW and have just started a run through (following a trouble-free installation). I have only added the TTW Bobbleheads.esp and TTW NoKarmaDCfollowers.esp. I will keep all my saves so let me know if anyone needs anything checked out.

Thanks to the TTW team for all your hard work, it's running really well.
