TTW 2.9.4 Released

TTW 2.9.4 has been released. This release is mostly bugfixes to deal with lingering issues in 2.9.3. Please see the changelog on the download page for more information.

I've updated the MCM script to have the proper delay, as well as separating out the parts that don't need to be in the main script.

Using TTW Options without the Mod Configuration Menu:

It's been brought to my attention that at least one person would like to use one or more of the MCM options without actually having an MCM. I'm including in this post an example file for how to make that happen. If you open it in FNVEdit, you'll see it's as simple as including the Globals in TTW.esm, and changing from 0 to 1 as needed. 0 is off, 1 is on. Future releases of TTW will have an expanded optionals file, as well as the ability to save your settings completely independant of your save game so that you won't have to adjust settings every time you start a new game. Again, we hope you like the product we provide (we're still not charging for it  ) and please let us know here if you have any issues.

i don't know, there really

i don't know, there really isn't enough information in that single sentence to figure out what's wrong with your game.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Apologies Puppettron,

Apologies Puppettron,

When I open the mcm menu, I see the "Tales of Two Wastelands".

However when I click nothing happens.  People where saying it was slow. and I can live with that, you only need to make the changes once.

Nothing appears on the right hand side.  It only makes the noise when click.

I have installed TTW 294 and their respective optional files. Win7 64bit.

My Question,  Can I use the plug "ttw_options_patch.esp" to bypass the mcm menu and set then in FNVEdit?

Thank you.

The slowness was fixed with 2

The slowness was fixed with 2.9.4. I've verified that the only issues with the newest version is the mouseover code. However, if you're having problems the way you describe using the patch is exactly why it was created.

A Hotfix has been added to

A Hotfix has been added to the alpha downloads page which fixes a couple of minor issues to the TTW MCM file.

Thank you again TTW Team.

Thank you again TTW Team.

One important thing, the hotfix page has 2 links on the "Download this file" part of the sentence.

"Download" links to the ttwoptions file that Roy put up that corrects the long load times.

"this file" links to the older "ttwmouse-over_and_col_fix.esp" that is no longer needed.

Just a heads up.

Thanks

Thanks. The whole thing points to an even newer version of MCM Options last night that Roy fixed up.

Just so everybody's clear here: When I created the MCM Options plugin, I produced some errors. I did rebuild 4 optional files to be more efficient, but I also made some mistakes with the MCM. (I haven't made an MCM since PANZER, for those of you that've been around awhile)

Anyway, the reason all of the Hotfixes thus far have been patches or outright replacements to MCM Options is because several members of the team have found slight issues over the duration of it's life, one of which was the load times bug - my apologies for that. Now that it's mostly patched up and working properly you can look for it to be expanded in function.

regarding the NMM and large

regarding the NMM and large installs... I will recheck this evening, but as I recall the problems went away when I made it large memory aware.
Tried twice ... both times died at 100%
checked for large memory of nexusclient...
fixed that...
still crashed ...
attached error report.
----
I did remove 2.6 which did work with NMM
---
windows7 64 pro... 6 gigs ram.... i7-920
---
so manual install wasn't required before.

----
I think I will see if I can roll back the NMM to an earlier version ... to see it that's the problem.

the install guide says this:-

the install guide says this:
- NOT recommended: Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) does not handle large mods well, and tends to generate errors and crashes when installing TTW, even on very high-end computers.
-----

the old  version of NMM worked once I gave it the memory enhancement.

----
the message does suggest that there's a check with their server that creates a problem...
----
maybe the message should say that NMM just doesn't work...
---
anyway got it in with Fomod...
will try it later today.

Hello, I am having a mental

Hello, I am having a mental breakdown at the moment and would like some help. I got a glitch with my New Vegas that made it unplayable. As a result I had to do a clean install of the game. The problem now is that I am trying to reinstall TTW and it won't even begin install, I click on it and nothing happens, even though I run as an administrator. I've reinstalled it 3 times in the past with no issue, so why wouldn't it work now? You can find my specs on my profile if you think they would help, but if anyone can give me any advice on how to fix this that would be amazing.

Naga, did you go through the FAQ's to make sure you have everything.  Also, clean out your TEMP directory.  If this gets full, all the mod managers will curse at you and will not install the TTW mod.

Validate your files, Steam

Validate your files, Steam has been pooping out broken files since forever. Don't clean your files, and don't try to install any patches.

The Rivet City bug still

The Rivet City bug still remains. NPCs are leaving the place for no reason. Every now and then, an NPC is misplaced or going in the wrong direction. There does not appear to be an assigned path for any of them.

Go ahead and assume that I'm insulting your work and being disrespectful. I can care less about anyone else's opinion. You said that you allow bug reports to be posted, so I'm posting one. Your rules are just different from Nexus, so I'm sorry if I don't understand.

Nobody cares that you're posting a bug report. Posting in this thread, the bug thread, starting your own thread, and PMing me (and who knows how many other team members) about it is annoying, but still not something against the rules. I'm not even sure why you think you've got a bad rap around here. If you're the guy that asked about the weapons in FO3 awhile back don't worry about it, nobody hates you for double posting.

Hello! I just wanted to start

Hello! I just wanted to start off by saying that I am very impressed and awed by the TTW team's work! Thank you for making FO fan's dreams come true! I'm new to TTW and today was my first time downloading a version of it. I downloaded the newest version (2.9.4b) from one of the mirrors and I have followed the installation procedure from the download page to a T. However, I have come to a problem that I don't believe is in your forum database (I looked for ages on Google and this website for people with similar problems and turned up nothing) When I click install on the TTW installer (after showing it where my FO3 and FNV and TTW install locations are) I get these exact words:

"Checking for required files.......

All files found. Proceeding with Installation.

Building Fallout3- Meshes

Unable to read beyond the end of the stream."

And then an error screen pops up saying "Unable to read beyond the end of the stream" and the whole installation process stops. I am at a total loss as to what to do. I've re-read the download page instructions many, many times and I have current, clean installs of the latest steam versions of both FO3 and FNV, as well as all the other requirements fulfilled so I should be ready to go. Is this a common problem with this TTW version? Or maybe something wrong with the download mirrors? Do I need to install a base TTW version first and then 2.9.4?  Am I a total dingus and missing something obvious about the install procedure? Sorry for the long post but I feel that a resolution to this might help more people than just me. Thanks in advance for any response/advice!

I seem to be having trouble

I seem to be having trouble installing 2.9.4b. I've downloaded the installer, run it and the FOMM still says I'm using 2.94.a. That seems borne out by the fact that I'm still having 20 minute load times.

Have I not actually downloaded b, or is b mis-labelled as a in FOMM (and the load times are the same)?

Dingus: Clean your temp folder and make sure you have 30 GB or so free.

Ged: You need to disable Options, load your game up, save it, then re-enable Options.

I just disabled the options

I just disabled the options and tried to load the last save game, which was on Zeta. It then tried to start me in NV as a new game.

Reinstalling Options and it stills tries to start a new NV game.

Edit: Well, I eventually made it back in on the original save with options on.

Dingus,

Dingus,

I encountered this error as well.  After much tinkering I traced the root cause to the Tale of Two Wastelands installer not extracting correctly.  I used an extractor besides 7-zip to unpack it and once I re-extracted it using 7-zip and ran it again it went through flawlessly.  Hope this helps.

Its over a year ago now since

Its over a year ago now since the last update has been released.

Any plans for the next update?

I actually still wonder if we move into the Beta at some point. Not meant to be rude. Its just odd. Actually I already thought the mod is already in Beta since the last versions...

Still hope we will see its full proper release once. Guess most people are busy with FO4 now. Next big DLC is not far away. But to be honest Im not enjoying FO4 as much as FO3 or FNV. Mainly because of the missing or even further reduced RPG part. I mean, I just replayed FO4 and it was... Unsurprising. Mostly because you have nearly no decisions anymore. Proper Roleplaying is really difficult with FO4. Kind of sad for me. The main game is still pretty good though. Just feels gimped at parts and mainstreamed. I really see nearly no replayvalue in it. I hope future mods and DLCs change that.

P.S. I hope you are not further delaying the updates due to another useless request, haha.
